The Trustees awards grants to institutions and individuals as they may determine and they administer three distinct sponsorship schemes 1. grant to instituions in which the late 3rd Earl of Inchcape took a personal interest or which members of the Inchcape Family or those associated with them have a special connection. 2. financial assistance to elderly individuals living in or in the vicinity of Glenapp Estate. and 3. educational scholarships
Objectives: The Trustees shall have power in their discretion at any time or times to pay or apply the whole or any part or parts of the income or capital of the Trust Fund for the following charitable purposes:- (a) relief of poverty. (b) advancement of education. (c) advancement of religion. (d) advancement of health. (e) advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. (f) advancement of environmental protection or improvement. (g) relief of those in need through age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. and (h) any other purpose similar to any of the preceding purposes. declaring that the expression 11 charitable purpose11 shall mean a charitable purpose under Section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 which is also regarded as a charitable purpose in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts.
