Strathaven Agricultural Exposition is an annual one-day agricultural show with the object of promoting agriculture and developing community relationships. The show is held annually on the first Saturday in September in the showfield at Over Lethame, on the outskirts of Strathaven. There are numerous competitions and classes suitable for everyone to participate in - from livestock showing, equine classes, dog show, baking and horticultural classes, children's school drawing competition, poultry classes and vintage tractor section. There are also attractions taking place throughout the day such as a children's entertainer, Highland Games display, a mini funfair, numerous trade stands, a craft marquee with arts and crafts tables, an entertainment stage and food stalls which all create a fun family day out.

Objectives: The objects of the society shall be:- a)The promotion and advancement of agriculture and the arts and industries and connectes there with and allied thereto, including all descriptions of rural industries and the products of such industries. b)The holding of agricultural shows, sheep and dog trials and providing all forms of public entertainment and any measures for the promotion of social intercourse among the members and c)To do all such things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
