Objectives and activities

Charitable purposes
Summary of the
main activities
in relation to these
objects
The aim of the group is to advance the education and social development of pre-school
children with the emphasis on the play experience, so that they take a constructive place in
the community and also to advance the education of their parents and other appropriate
persons.
To provide a safe and satisfying group play and learning. To encourage other charitable
activities through which the parents may support the development of children.
We place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and provide regular opportunities for
children to learn and develop in natural environments. Our Forest Kindergarten sessions
encourage creativity, confidence and curiosity. This environment enables children to build
dens, climb trees and explore natural materials while engaging with the outdoors.
Learning is led by children’s interests and enriched through involvement in the local
community. We extend experiences beyond the setting through visits to local places,
educational trips and welcoming visitors. This includes parents who share their knowledge,
skills and interests. These opportunities support children’s understanding of the wider world
and promote meaningful real life learning experiences.
The setting provides care and education for children aged 2 years to school age.

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the
charity during the
financial period
Throughout the year, our dedicated staff have continued to grow professionally by expanding
their knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of children’s experiences and support
thoughtful, responsive planning. This development is strengthened by a culture of sharing
good practice, where staff regularly exchange ideas, reflect together, and apply new learning
across the setting to continually improve outcomes for children.
We also value the knowledge and experiences of our parents and carers, who contribute to
children’s learning by sharing their skills, interests, and insights. This partnership further
enriches the curriculum and helps to create meaningful and relevant learning opportunities.
The support from our committee, parents, and carers have played a vital role in the life of the
setting. Their involvement has helped to enhance children’s experiences, particularly through
fundraising events held over the year, which have contributed valuable resources and
opportunities for the children.

Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy
on reserves
Details of any deficit
Donated facilities and services (if any)
At present our reserve funds consist of monies to cover 3 months wages
and rent and linked with our current account, all funds are unrestricted.
This year, we faced a deficit of £5,345, primarily due to increased staffing
costs driven by the rise in the national minimum wage and the need to
maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios while supporting our expanded
outdoor learning experiences.
This year we received £800 from Technip and £781.70 from Udny
Community Trust. Total funding received was £1,581.70 which was used
to purchase upgrade essential technology within our early years setting to
enhance learning, improve communication and strengthen our
administrative and safeguarding systems.
