They have been very gppreciative of this and many ot them conb'nue to support the church by continuing wth their offerings, the Mile of 2p and supporting any fundrasing events in any way they can. Thè congregation of St Margar8Y¥ contr'nues to work hard to meet Its Mtrnents. A turtrter Mile of 2p r•sultad in a ¢heque for £1300 being presented this year and our Chrisknas Fayre raised £2001 on the day with more money comlng In over the next few ks. This is the most we have ever raised and the atmosphere in the church hall thal day was fantssb'c. We continue to hold our Bowl Blether on the Second Saturday of every rnth but numbers outwith the congwat40n are disappointr'ngw low. We re1Ve a grant of £3000 from ViÈrmer Spaces CVS which has enabled us to buy equipment an¢ supplies. Vve plan to continue the Bowl and Bleth8r for the pSent but are monltorlng it fvrways to improve and expand. There are a numberof volunteeTS who help out regularly. The Our Fellowship Group meet every seGon(l Monday and have a r2gular attendan of around 20 people. They have a varied programme to suit all antt new members are always w21corne. We also started a new Craft group In Septemberto make items for the Christrnas FayTe. This has been very sUsSful and well attended. A new Tai Chi dass started and meets on a Thursday. This is very well supported. (Thsr Pathal Care group provide good support to church members that are housebound or in hospital and the COnggation is heartened by the average number in attendan at worship remaining steady. Our Property Committee has continu9d to look afterour buildings. For many years we have had problems with the roof of the vestibule and this year had the render on the gable end removed and replaced. At last this appears lo Ve solved the longstanding problem and the decoration will be redone in the New Year On the plaster has fully dried out. Work was started on the kitchen during the summèr and tho cabtnet doors and rktOPS were all replaced, a new cooker hood Énd hob Installed, new flooring fitted, tsps replaced and hotwater nStald. The kitchen was also r8decorated. This has been very much apprectated by the congregation. stage in the hall has had maprwotk done to eradicate woodvdurm. The wood was rerroved, the remainin9 wood Sanded and treated and then new wood rrtted and stained. Dgcoration Is still to be done. We had applied for a grant from Faith in Communty as we hoFed to start a communlty garden at Ihe rear of the church. We retsived a grant of £500. To start with, we were contscted by Inverclyde Shed who offered to plant an apple orchard frjr us. Unfortunately the day before itwas lo happen, a neighbour complain&d abDuI this and the plantlng had to be postwned. He met with the Interim Moderator, Session Clerk arKI a local community councimor where we clarified exactly what was planned. He appeared to have been given a bt of incorrect inf0mtItin about what our intentions were and simply refuseij to Iksten lo us. We were eventualty able to go ahead wth orchard but all plans fDr raised beds have had to be abandoned. Page 3
