All office bearers are elerted at the Annual General Meeting and hold office from the day followlng the
AGM until the end of the day ot the next AGM. Office bearers rtire annually. althou8h they are eligible for
re-election.

The purpose of the Association. a5 recorded in the Constitution, is.to promote yoga in all its aspects within
the Grampian area".
Membership
Membership is open to anyone on the payTnent of the annual 5ubscrlption, subject to any Ilmitation on
numbers that may be fixed by the committee. All members are entitled to attend and vote at Special and
Annual General Meetin85.

OBJEcfivES AND AcnvmES
As a charity run by a dedicated team of volunteer committee members, GYA brlngs people together
through workshops. retreats. community events and masterclasses with teachers from Scotland and
beyond.
We a150 SUPWrt students on their yoga joumey with sponsorships for foundation and teacher trainin& and
we maintain a re8iSter of local teachers to help the communlty find welcomin& highquality classes.
Our membership currently stands at 82 compared to 81 the previous year. At the AGM, Rebecca Murray
was re-elected as Chair and Louise MacRae as Vice Chair. Alison Miller was reolected as Treasurer. Sheena
Allan was re*lected as Secretsry and Membershlp Secretsry. Nicky 8ramley. Kelly Signorini, Sankesh
Sundareshwar, Rltu Awasthi and Gayle Sheed were re-elected as Commlttee members
2025 ha5 been a transformative year for our yoga community atross the Grampian region. From an
energised GYA commlttee to full-house workshops in the city. every moment has been powered by
connectlon, curiosity and a shared love of yoga.

In May we enjoyed a day of yoga with Mary
Richards. MS from the USA. As well as treatlng us
to a fun and informative day, Mary also signed
copies of her book Teach People Not Poses.
Mary was already In the UK. GYA paid travel to
and from London. GYA'S bank account doesn't
have the foreign currency payment function
activated so fees were paid by the Treasurer and
relmbursed by GYA.

The venue for the event was provided free of charge. Sponsorship was
recerved for Consulate General of India. The remainder of the costs
were shared between the other yoga associatlons.

Rosemount Community Centre with the Coorie
Doon event. Yoga practice wlth Nicky was
followed by a sound bath with Kelly. The surplus
for the event was £73.
Both organisations promoted the event and
collerted fees. GYA paid the tutors. GYA added
£224 to the surplu5 and £297 was earned for
YO8a artlvities at RCC.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves
The trustees have reviewed the reserves policy. and it is the oplnlon of the trustees. that the GYA assets of
£12,411. being the balance held in the bank accounts is sufficient to fund the continuing activities of
Gramplan Yoga Association. In accordance with the reserves policy, a temi deposlt account has been set up
and £5.OC() of the cash assets have been transferred to this account.
Deficlt
The result for the year was a deficit of EIO. With assets of over É12k. GYA are In a position to allow
payments In the year to exceed receipts. As SUPFQrt for the tommunity and sponsorship increases, then
small deficits are likely to be the regukir pattem for the organisation.
Donatlons- Ser¥kes
GYA Is wholly run by volunteers. All work done by trustees and the committee members for the actlvities
and obligations of the or8anisation is cafrled out free of charge.
Tutor fees were donated by the Chair and a committee member for the AGM Semlnar.
The financial records are examined by a qualified accountant who donate5 her time.
AGM
The Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 22nd March 2026 from 11.LK) to I2.￿ and will be held at the
Cults Kirk Centre, 404 North Deeside Road, CU￿$, Aberdeen.
GYA Members are Invlted to attend the AGM, and we welcome suggesttons for development or
Improvement.

At the AGM in 2025. It was agreed to transfer £5.CO) to a savings account. The value of £5,CQO1s the
amount Set In the reserves pollcy. During the year, an account was set up with Stripe, an online
payment platform. A second current account was set up to link to the Stripe atcount. A 30-day
Interest account was also opened.
The Treasurerfs oplnion is that the GYA total assets of £12.411 are sufficient to fund the contlnuln8
activities of the Gramplan Yoga Association.

GYA is wholly run by volunteers. All work (bne by trustees and the committee members for the
activities and obligations of the organisation is carried out free of charge. Tutor fees were donated
by the Chair and a comm5ttee member for the AGM Seminar. The extemal examiner donates her
