Recruitment and Appolntment of Trustees The Trustees of the charity for the purpose of charity law and under the frrnis of the Constitution are known a5 the Member5 of Council. Any person who agr¢¢s with the aims and objectives of the charity may apply for membership. The Council Members are appointed by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. New members of Committee are introduced to the aims and objectives of the charity by the chairperson. OBJECTIVES AND ACTtvrrtES Charitable Purpose Th¢ purpose of Tay Valley Family History Society 15 to promote the study of family history and g¢n¢alogy to the general public and to its members Worldwide. Summary of Mydin Activities and Achievements During the year the charity was involved in the following events.. Members of Council hold monthly meetings in peTson in our Research Ccntre. Tri-annual journal publication with reciprocal arrangements with other Scottish Societies. Online talks with various Speakers. Development and maintenance of tlje Society's website. Maintenance of the Society's Facebook page. Bookshop sales and restocking holdings. Research section dealing with membership enquiries, mainly frorn ov¢r5¢as. Trustees, Annual Report (eont) FINANCIAL REVIEW Reserves Poliey Taking into account our annual level of expenditure and our future commitments, the Trustees aim to hold sufficieni funds to meet 6 months of future expenditure which would equate lo approximately £20.000. Ai the year end, funds held for general purposes stood at £62,145 (2025 - £65.162). A full stocktake was Larried out of the Bookshop and the financial value calculated using the cost price. Council is appraised of the curreni bank balance at each meeting and all large expenditure an]ounts to be met in following month. This report is made solely to the trustees, as a body. in accordance with my ternis of engagement. My work has been undertaken to enable me to report my opinion set oui below and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent pennitted by law, J do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the trustees, as a body, for my work or for this report. Respeclive responsibilities of Trustees and independent examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in a¢¢ordanee with the tern)s of th¢ Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulation5 2006 {as amended). The charity trnstees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation l O{ l } (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply.
