## REPORT FOR YEAR TO 30TH SEPTEMBER 2025 

- 1 Name of Charity: Maxwell and Hutchison Charitable Trust. 

- 2 Charity Number and Address: SC016554, c/o Blackadders LLP, 53 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 6TS. 

## 3 Trustees: 

Morison Nominees Ltd (appointed 11.10.16) 

- 4 Founding Deed: Deed of Trust by Ann Maxwell Graham dated 4th March 1875 and registered in the Books of Council and Session on 13th March 1877. 

- 5 Recruitment of Trustees: The founder (Miss Graham} was a connection of the Firm of A J & A Graham, Solicitors, Glasgow (now Blackadders LLP). The Trustees have traditionally been drawn from members of the firm or contacts of the firm (including those of the name of Maxwell or Hutchison). 

- 6 Purposes of the Charity: The relief of such persons of the names of Maxwell or Hutchison and husbands or wives of or descendents from those names as may have fallen into or be in reduced and necessitous circumstances but who are not such as are actually entitled to parochial relief or in the receipt thereof. Ancillary powers re education etc. Prohibition of benefit of those of the Roman Catholic persuasion. 

- 7 Summary of main activities for the financial year: Payments have continued to be made to the current beneficiaries of the Trust during the financial year under review (payment of £400 to 7 individual). The Trustees are reviewing whether there is scope to increase the existing payments (or recruit new beneficiaries within the constraints of the Trust purposes). 

- 8 Reserves: The Trust is currently accumulating such income as is not required for the purpose of payments to beneficiaries. The current accumulated balance of income £43,963 

- 9 Deficit: The charity has a deficit for the year of £1,712. 

- 10 Donated facilities and services: The charity has not been in receipt of any such facilities or services in the financial year under review.

## INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES ON THE UNAUDITED RECEIPTS AND PAYMENTS ACCOUNT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2025 

| report on the accounts ofthe charity for the year ended 30th September 2025 which are set out on page 3. 

Respective responsibilities of the Trustee and Independent Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. 

It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## Basis of Independent examiner's statement 

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. 

## Independent Examiner's Statement 

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention. 

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: 

- to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and 

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
