Our scrvi¢¢s are voried in style and always open to all. We mainly use Burnti$land Church buildTng and the Church on the
High Street in KiTJghorn. However, as Fife Presbytery plan has l)oth Kinghorn and Bumt151and church buildings set for
disposal w¢ ar¢ looking at ways io make our halls work for us. Cbilled Church. Alpha. Sunday ai 7 and Cafe Church are all
well attended.
Our ¢ominitm¢nt io The BEK partnership is as strong &s ever with joini servi¢¢s being held throughout ihe year.

Our Parent and Toddler ￿0Up and Young Islanders are working well. Bible study remains steady and Drift In is going from

retained for a further year. The work of Comerstone continues with more people than ever coming along for a hoi lun¢h.
Unfortunately* our Guild folded this y¢ar4nd will be missed.

The halls in both KinghoTn and Burntislond are used ihroughout ihe week for Church and Community organisations.

Guides, Brownies. Rainbows, Slimming World. Pilaies, Karaie, Tae Kwon Do. Seouts. Cubs. Beavers. Explorers. Prospects,
Art Group. Big Green Market, Church Youth Groups. ToddleTS' GD)UP5, Highland Dancing> Kinghorn 14islorical Society>
SWI. Bible Study, Kirk Session, Various groups use th¢ halls as required for meetings. coffee mornings, birthday parties etc.
Our h811 Convener$ ensure that non-members are comfonable and happy io be in ihe curtilage of ¢hur¢h pr()perty and all lets
are approved by ihe Kirk Session.
FAlth Hope and Charlty Shop and Ch*pter And Verge
Our shops have, once a&ain, proved lo be an invaluable asset which have contribuied w¢ll ¢0 our in¢om¢ for the year. With
very old buildings to maintain, lh¢ Finan¢e Team is, as always, very 8ratefiJl for ihese important resources. Moreover, in the
difficult financial lime$ w¢ ar¢ experiencin& the Faith Hope and Charity shop is playing a role in our ¢oinmilm¢nl to provide a
Wann Hub within our community.
Communlty and Outr¢*¢b
The church operaies a shop in both Kinghorn {Faith. Hope & Charity) and Burntisland (Chapter & Verse). Faith, Hope &
-hari¢y offers good quality second hand goods for sale and also sell tea, coffee, juice and biscuits so thgl folks can sii and hav¢
a chat with one another. Chapter & V¢rse is sto¢ked with a range of new ￿fis. a seleclion of greetings cards, bibles and books.
The church operates a drop in lea, coff¢¢ and c8kc on a Tucsday in Kinghorn and a community café serving a hot. two ¢ourse
meal on a Wednesday in Burntisland. Both ￿￿ very well attended and appreciated by the community.
Two very successful Alpha coutB¢s w¢re run by the Church in 2024 aitracting people from outside and inside the ¢hurch. A
follow on 10-week Bible Course wa5 8150 provided for tliose wlio all￿1￿ed Alphd.
A very successful Holiday Club was h¢ld in the summer attracting more than 40 primary age children over 3 days. Several
well-atlended communiry ev¢nts were held during 2024 including coffee mornings. a ceilidh and a community Christmtts sing-
along.
Ar Easter 40 wooden crosses were put up in gardens of homes throughouE Burniisland and Kinghorn. The church also
produced an Easter leaflet and organisd an Easter themed competition tn the local primary whools.
Chaplaincy has ¢ontinu¢d with our local primary and secondary sch¢)ols and our local football tett￿. This contact along with
our Ministees monthly newsletters and our quarterly magazine has kepi God's word at the heart of our Congr¢gaiion.

Families and Children Worker
Our children and families worker- who we will sha￿ with ETsk7ne United Free church has been retained for another two years
and h¢ is w¢ll known by youth and familles alike as he works with our schools, youth clubs. sporting activities and Ignite And
Chri$lian Union.
Worship Together Team
The uniting of the Worship Together Teams as part of our Church union has been a real benefit to all worship servi¢es
tliroughout the past year. In addition, the shared worship with Er5kine and Si Serfs has added unity, variety of approach and
enhancement to our Christian service.
The variety of services now on offer, we hop¢. go a long way io mL*ting thc necds of all agcs and styles of worship, via
Unil¢d Services. BEK Service4 Chilled Church and evening worship in the fonn of Taize, Café Church, Ignite and
'Inday@7.
4n our iy)¢¢tings we review, discuss and share the congr¢gaiion's Comments and feedback in order to progress and plan for
tur¢ s¢vi¢¢s.
Union has also provided the team and cOn￿ega110n with a varieiy of Tnusi¢al colnbinations at every service with organ only,
praise band, praise band and organ and with Molly and Bill's ac¢ordion and guitar accoinpaniinents. Thank5 IllUSt be awarded
lo the organisation. lime effor( and enthusiasm afforded by the musical team members. As a resuli, some of the congrcgational
singing and praise has been truly upliftin8.

th¢ various s¢rvi¢es. Cover for holidays, illness, etc., by ihe ministry assislani 8nd mcmbers of tlie Worship Together Team

The prin¢ipo1 $ouw¢s of income are weekly offerings, Gift Aid tox fffund$, fundrnTsing, church organisation activities and hall
lets. The Statement of Financial Activities and Balance Sheet for the church provide full details of the financial position in the
ycar to 31 D¢c¢mb¢r 2024.
The Statement of Financial Activities shows a surplus for the year of£123.888 {2023.. deficit of £16,108) as reported on poge
8. The significant surplus in the year is primarily du¢ to the transfcr of union balance of £126,597. Totsl funds at the year end
were £554,19712023.. £430.309).
As noted und¢r StrUC￿re and Governance abov¢ the two churches of Kinghorn Parish and Burnti51and Parish uniled on I
January 2024. As a resuli, the amounts in the accounts for 2024 are the combined figures for the Iwo previous churches. The
compArdtive figu￿5 how¢vcr, are only for Burtisland ParAsh chll￿h, as thi5 was ihe entity that now houses the neM, Kinghorn
And Burntisland Church of Scotland. The incortM)ration of the opening balance of Kinghorn Parish Church is detailed in note 5
to the accounts.

Risk Management
The t￿￿tee5 have assessed the major risks to which the Chariiy is exposed and seek to 8ddffss them with appropriate actions.
The principal risks fa¢¢d by the charity cornprise generating sufficient income io cover all liabilities and the maiThi¢nan¢¢ of
the buildings for which the charity is Teswnsible. The ITUStees work io ensure that th¢ costs of running the Charity gre
commensurate with the fi￿d5 available and will take any actions necessary 10 address any shortfal]s. The buildings available to
the ¢harity have b¢¢n ass¢ssed and categorized ihrough the PrCSb￿ery Mission Plan process and appropriate actions put in
pla¢¢ to dis¢harg¢ our obligations. This has been undertaken wi(h external suppon where necessary. Plans are being developed
lo either tnaintain each propety to an acc¢ptable standard or to distM)se of ihe property in the most beneficial way for th¢
chariiy, The trustees regularly undertake an assessment of ihe risks associated with the day io day running of rhe Church. This
includes both health & safety and financial risks. The risks that have been identified are discussed within coinmiitee and al
Kirk Session meerings with appropriate aclions taken to mirigate Imanage the risk.
Our G.D.P.R. Officer has all necessary infonnaiion up-io-date And mak¢s sur¢ Ihal all offi¢¢ b¢arers and key workers are
aware of the necessary reqiiirements to keep sensitive inforniation secure.
The Chuwh of S¢otland Safeguarding system operates on the basis of tn￿1 thai the $￿temS and people are working well to
Y>teci children and Vulnerable adults from harm or abuse. To this end, as defined by law. our volunteers and paid workers
,rforking in pr¢5¢ribed p(>sitions must have PVG Clearance Irom Disclosure Scoiland and undergo regular irdining.
Volunteers
Apart from ihe Minister, Ministers Assisthni, organisi, cleaners and Youth & Families worker, all other Services are caJTied out
by volunteers. This includes offJc¢ b¢ar¢r posilions {such as Session Clerk. Treasurer), Trustees and others who and assist
with the various activities the chur¢h lakes parl in. Withou¢ the many volunteer5 ihe church would not be able to function.
Reserve8 Policy
The charity irust¢es have ¢onsidered the reserves required by the Church and have taken into account their current and fiJtur¢
liabilities. It 1$ the Trnsi¢¢s' policy io hold in unreslricied reserves an amount equivalent to 3 4 months, unrestricted
expendI￿re, including that in designai¢d funds. Ai the year end ihe church held unrestricted funds of £229,561 12023..
£132,703), which represenis around 13 months unrestricied expenditure. however the Trustees are also conscious that Ihe
Church buildings are very old and un¢xrrtied fabri¢ expenditure ¢an arise at short notice. therefore, they feel that the higher
