BAVS (Berwickshire) Ltd (formerly the Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service) is set up to sell donated items through its four charity shops, using the profits to support grassroots community engagement. The shops are also a means of providing volunteering opportunities to the people of Berwickshire. It is also an organisation that can hold and distribute custodian funds.

Objectives: Objects 2 The company's objects are: (a) The prevention or relief of poverty For example, the company will provide a cost-effective alternative to clothing and homeware in our charity shops. (b) The advancement of education For example, through volunteering opportunities, the company will offer training and employability skills. Engaging in the preservation, promotion and improvement of fine craftmanship. (c) The advancement of health For example, the company will promote community projects to combat social isolation and promote positive mental health practices. (d) The advancement of citizenship or community development For example, the company will engage with communities, providing resources to further promote citizenship (e) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement For example, the company will divert waste from landfill through its Charity Shops and Reuse hub. It will encourage its Berwickshire community to adopt sustainable practices. (f) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. For example, the company will offer support where possible to those in need, through community engagement.
