I Sl Colurllba's School Society was formed on 12 October 1906. The
membership is open lo all former pupils of the School and all former
members of School Staff. Present members of staff are Associate
Members. The Head of the School shall be Honorary President of the
Association. The lalesl conslilulion is dated October 1992.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
Trustees are recruited from Kilmacolm and the surroundlng are8s lo form
a committee of no less than 8 members, retiring in rolalion after 3 years of
service. The nomination of a member for membership of the Committee
may be made by a member of the Association or by the Committee itself.
Election is by member vole al the Annual General Meeting.
Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
l The principal objective of the Association Is lo encourage an enlhusiaslic
and continuing interest in the 8ffairs of Sl Columba's School and lo
promote the wellbeing of the School.

The main activities of the Association, in relation lo these objects, are lo
organise fundraising and social events, provide annual prizes for

Our fund rai4ing evani at The GL45w Ari Club in March 2￿2$ well 8tt8nded event The purpose
was lo raise awareness of the schoDI developmeni plan5 and lo r81sè furKI5.
Our Fomer PU￿1$, rugby & hockey matches were held in March 2025. annual event 15 an
eslablished communily event and raisss funds for the SGhool8' ntminaled charrfies.
The Former Pupils Ass¢Kialron was also invofved in and supportaj many other sch￿1 and
communily events IhroughoJl the year irtluding Legacy and fund raising events. We have also
started 10 hold'lriend r8isiw' social trvenls mainly In London. and Edinburgh for
fonr8r pupils lo make the soci81 évents more accesslbl&. We ￿an lo ho￿ Ihese annually and
expand 10 Sl Andrews and Abordatn.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charily's policy
on reserves
The Trust's reserves, which are all unreslricled, are predominantly invested
in cash. The Trust's investment policy is to maintain income and growth
with a medium degree of risk. The Trustees receive advice from
professional investment advisers regarding implemenlalion of this policy.
There are no restrictions on expending capital.
The Trustees consider the levels of the fund al periodic intervals, and
onsider that these conslilule sufficient reserves lo ensure that the Trust is
able lo meet ils objectives.

Details of any deficit
A deficit of £5,911 is reported for the period. The FP events ran
successfully in the year. There were new members joined in the year and
the funds for this year were paid across during this year. As usual, there
were a number of prizes issued lo pupils in the year. In addition, new
member events were held including member gatherings in Glasgow,
Edinburgh and special events in Kilmacolm for the closing of Shallot and
I the opening of the new Junior School.
The Trustees are still considering where lo reinvest the cash funds for the
future and are reviewin
the need for additional revenue streams.
