2024 has been a year of Ir8nsformation with the extensNe preparations for the establishment of the new Parish of
Linliihgow and Avon Valley Gonsisilmg of AvonbrKJge Church: Linlithgow Sl Michaefs, L¢nltthgow St Ninian's
Craigmailèn and Torphichen Kirk. This rbyuired a 5igntfiixnl investsnent of time and resources for much of the year
culminallng in th6 succasslul launch of the Parish on l Novernbei. In its iwo months of operation in 2024, the focus
was on the cws0￿1￿a1[on of the finan￿S for the four thurches and the establighment of the various Toams- suxteen
in total- re5ponsibililie5 for the day-tw operation of the Parish and the wide range of athvthes 0fi0red.

the new Parish on 1 November.
Avonbrldge Church
2024 did not start off weB for AvofibiKSge Chtfvth. We expor10n￿ a lyJr* sNpe in the kitchen on 7th January which
wiped out th8 full kitchen and the flooring in the ChuJrkn Hall. However. insurance covered the c05t allowng us to
regain a functiorting kitchen again.
Tha church continued lo grow in strength Ihis past year. The Unkjn of Ltnlithgow and Avon Val￿Y has brought vs
g￿at support and allowed the chuT¢h to benefft from the pr8paration of a (￿mmunity audit. This WOTk h85 reunited
the village with the Church and allowed conversations to happ￿ to work logethw in 2025 when the community hall
oses- some groups are already ￿MIng into the Churth Hau foT theiT events.
The Church also re￿4ve{l funding frcjm Ketvin Vatley Falkirk Communty Loc* Dev8k)pment Fund to engage an
architect to investigate possible scen8ri0s to charkga th¢ design arKI layout of the Church building to alk)w for
greater flexibility for cc>mmunity events. This has been very well r￿l￿ed by the Church and the Community.

The first full year of op8ration ol our n8w accounting soliware package has greatly ènhanced our abillty lo managè
our ffnancial Iransa¢tiDn8 and monitor bud98ts. This systom will fonn the basis of the financial management
accounts for the new Parish.
Aspire Llnlithgow athieved remarkable success ¥wth tb.e sewring of funding just short of £500k. Thanks to our
members, the wider communily and our grant funders. Historic Enwrornent ScOt￿nd. The Chureth of Swland
General Trustees, The Landfill Communid8s Trus¢ 8nd the Pi￿jnM Trust we were ab￿ lo undertako the renovation
ol our Crown of TtrK)ms splre, whlch was ¢ompletoil and dèd1(2t￿ durfng 2024.
Transformlng Cross Housè Into a Communlty Hub {A house for thè town). The Fundraising T88m hava now
tumed theii attantion to our next major challenge la potential five-year challenge). Thèy have been successfvl in
securing approv81 from the Natlonal Herilage Lottery Fund to progr855 to the next stage of the procegs which wlll
involve the submissSon of a formal proposal for finanaal suprKJrt to redevèlop CrDss House as a ve*ue which wlll
address the needs of the church bul also tho wKler (x)Wirnunty in Linlithgow as well as being a herltAge resourcè for
the town.
Project 600 - As a Gra￿A lisled building, trd￿sfoMlng Cross w.ouse essential. However, this Is 3lso the case
for St Mlchael's Churcli building which Is Grade-A Ilsted. Thfis project which wll also require some consKJerable

support team m8nage Ihis particularfy irnportanl aspect of cKJr responsibllty and are very well versed in tho Church
of Scotland policies on safeguarding and oui. Pand continues to be in plaeè. A safèguarding training prLyJrarnrne for
Se88ion Trustee8 is also in place.
Pastoral support continues to play a wtal part in bolh the life of our churth 8nd thè wdar wmmunity. Elders and
Visitors, often being our eygs and ears oiisuring Ih81 our r8SFonse to our people's needs is met. Under thè
guidanco of our Pa8loral C8re Team, more '.5pecific needs continued to be met Ihrough pastoral visitors developing
supportive relationships wilh people facing signilirAnt thall8rKJès. Thèrè havè bogn several additions to the team
and the Iralning providod has t￿n 8pprery¥ted.
We continue to wort in partnershp with our invofvem•nt in thè work of West Lothian Foodbank and in Bèthany
Trusvs Edinburgh winter slielter. We cMtinu6 to providg vaiuablo supwrt to Youth¥p8ce {prevlously known as
LYPP), Christian and Falrtrade movement. In 2024. we have Prov￿ed accomTllLkYalion for First Step lo provid8
storage for foodstuffs whlch a￿ availaLAe lo the local cxjmmuntty on a cOu￿e ofoccasions each week.
The development of our Website and FacebcN)k pagè expands our rea(* not only lo our congregalion bul lo a wide
and dlverse group wllhin Dur communtty and boyorKI. Obr professionalty edsted Crosswind Magazlne rAnlinued to
provlde Interesting stories auoss a wde range ol topics and L8 a welcorned publication within our homes. Thg
Electronic Newsletter has gone from strength to Stre￿ now re8ching over 5(K) r8cippnts on a monthly basls.
