Sadly. this organization went into liquidation in late 2021 and the contsiner will be removed in due course. Our building in Dove StreeL Nitshill. was leased for several years to a Children's Nursery, operating duriog the day from Monday to Friday, until ihe nursery d¢Lided to bring thc leas¢ to an end in the summer of 2015 in order to relocatc to more suitable premises lo¢ally. Beginning in Novcmber 2015, we leased our Dove Street premises to"Dancebeat". a dance school. which had sole use of the Premises throughout the week other than on a Sunday morning. This lease continued until the autumn of 2018. whcn th¢ danc¢ school relocated to other premises. With no prospective t¢nant to l¢as¢ th¢ hall to, wc deLtded &% a Kirk Session lo look towards selling oiw Dovc Street building. However. in the autumry of 2019 w¢ were approached by "Danceb¢at" to renew the let. and &$ this would be of substsntial help to the church financially. it was agreed that the lease would begin again on 1° December 2019. The pandemic cauqed -Dancebeat" to close for severdl months. However. it was able to rL'ttmi to aciivity in the autumn of 2020 for a pcriod of time before closing again as we wcnt into level 41(KkdowD. "DanLebeal" has now fully reopened following the relaxation of Covid Testrictions. Achlevements and Performance At the end of 2021 we had 173 membets on the chu￿￿ communion roll {down 8). Sadly, due to the ¢lY¢cts of the panden]ic we have only 2 children worshiping with us from time to tirne. In the autumn of 2016 we introthical Messy Church. Messy Church 18 a church with a difference for all ages. It is a fatnily L'vent and all Children need to be accompanid by an adult. Taking place over 2 bours, it iric0￿rat¢S gamcs, craft-making. Bible stories, a worship tim¢ in the sanctuary and enjoying a meal together. Une encouraging &sp¢d of Me&sy Church is that some of the adults who brlng the children are now helping to lead som¢ of the craft activities alongside ow leaders. Regrettably, Messy Church ceased due to the pandemic and h&s not restarted due to lack of volunteers. 2 infant baptisms took place during 2021. Th¢r¢ were DO weddings ¢elebratrd in 2021. I I funerals took place duting 2021 (Down 3). In 2Q21, sadly. we lost 7 members of OUT congregation through death. (One of the major themes of our services has been the belief thaL out of the th'fficulties that th¢ pandemic has brought to bear, there will emerg¢ a new season of revival.) 2) To put into practice the Local Church Review Five Year Action Plan which was agreed at the December 2017 meeting ot'Glasgow Presbytery. Thi5 is suspended meantime. 3) To engage in the vacancy process, guided by our Interim Mod¢rdtor, who w&5 elected in March 2021. Our neighbouring parish churc14 St James'(Pollok), f¢ll vacant at the end of February 2019 with the r¢tiremcnt of thcir parish minister. In the present Presbytery Plan. (2012 - 2022), our ￿]Sh church and St James, (Pollok) Parish Church are mentioned together in temis of our buildings. In tkcember 2020 our Parish Minister intimated to GI&8gow Presbytery his intention to retire on 5 June 2021. In March 202 l the Vacancy Procedur¢ Committee of Glasgow Presbytery propM)sed thal in light of the pending vaknancy, our parish cburch be given the right to call a minister without ￿$triCtiOn. This proposal was nol challenged. While this is very encouraging, we are awgre as a Kirk Se&sion, that the 2021 General Assembly, due to take pl2Le in mid-to-late May, will be reporting on a substantial reduction in available ministers across th¢ Church of Scotland, including C)l&sgow Presbytery, as w¢ go into the immediate future. In light ofthis. there is a strong sense that our present "right to call a minister without restriction- 1$ not nece&sarily a settled matter and may changc in th¢ months that lie ah¢ad.
