It remains closed other than with the agreement of the Church of kotland. Treasurer has overseen four concerts, one funeral. and 5 tours of the Cathedral with help from members of the Society. Council met on 22nd January 2024 when it was decided to ask members of the Soclety to agree to two proposals. These were carried at an E.G.M on 4th March 2024. The proposals were... The agreement to these proposals were necessary due to the setting up of a new charity, a S.C.l.O. The Brechin Cathedral Trust, which is able to to conserve and maintain the fabric etc of the Cathedral and Hall. The &Kiety's charitable status is unincorporated. The new charity is incorporated and will be able to carry out far more than the S(xiety can e.g. financial, employing persons. The financlal report submitted gives detalls of all arrangements and reports relatlng to the preservation of the Cathedral and for the transfer of management etc. to the SCIO before the the S(xiety is wound up later in 2024.
