The Fund does not have any Conslilution as such nor any one 9)vemng document. 11 orpinaled in a grfi of
£1.500 in 1939 by Mrs Chadotte William50n the widow of a member. Alexander M Williamson, who wished lo
provide an annual prize to the law student at the University of Abwdeen who showed the tyeatesl proficiency
in knowledge of case law in various branc￿. It was left to the &Kiety's Management Committee to draw up
a scheme for administering the amount received which they dtd in consultalion wtth thè family. The Fund was
later augmented by a bequest of£15.tY)O from Lady Williamson, the widow ofAlexander M Williamson's nephew
Sir George Williamson. The Fund was registered as a charity from 1 January 1992.

The Fund is managed by the Managgmenl Commrtlee of ￿ SOc￿ty of Advocates in Ab8rdeon who are
appointed annually al the So¢￿ty.5 AGM in late November. The members of the Managemenl Committee may
be ￿garded a$ the charity Trustees gx

Aberdeen.
