Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees
All of the Association’s trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at our Annual General Meeting.
Governing Document
The Association is a charitable unincorporated association, and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution.
Charitable Purposes
Our purposes are the advancement of education, the prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of health, the advancement of citizenship or community development, the advancement of public participation and the provision of recreational facilities and the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of the health of our pupils.
Activities and Achievements
We work with all third sector providers and community groups to provide as much experiential learning for our pupils as they grow into young adults that can access and participate in the everyday wider world. We have a regular calendar of visits from cycling groups, highland disability sport events, visits to the cinema, drama classes, sensory pets, music groups, storytellers, community groups, residential and day outwards bounds experiences and specialist teachers/leaders to come into the school and lead activities.
We also have a transition programme for our post 16 pupils offering them supported work experience in the community. We are constantly seeking to enhance and widen the range of post school destinations for our pupils and have dedicated staff in this area of our provision. We have worked with community groups to support well-being and mental health of our pupils’ post lockdown.
We continue fundraising for the development of our playground with new and exciting playground equipment being purchased for our pupils; and we are now looking to further enhance our school grounds and buildings with bike storage, bush craft area, orienteering trails and nurture activities and provision to enrich our pupils’ outdoor learning experience. This year has seen an outside trampoline installed, sensory activity stations set up and development of more planting areas around the school grounds.
