The aim of the Michael Bruce Memorial Trust is to keep alive the memory of the ‘Gentle Poet of Lochleven’ Michael Bruce (1746-67) for the benefit of the cultural heritage of Scotland in general and Kinross-shire in particular. This is achieved through various means including: maintaining and making accessible to the public the cottage (and its gardens) where Michael Bruce was born and died. mounting exhibitions. maintaining a website dedicated to the poet. the publication of books, articles, information leaflets and promotional material. running annual events. conducting tours and educational activities for school children and awarding grants to them for related activities. conducting fundraising events.
