**What the charity does:** The Scottish Association of Moviemakers stimulates interest in all aspects of amateur moviemaking, to raise the standard of amateur moviemaking and to encourage and assist, by all means, the production of films and videos by amateurs throughout Scotland. To provide an information service for members and to publish reports, or documents, of interest to members. To provide or assist in the arrangement of local, regional and national competitions and festivals for amateur moviemakers. To encourage and arrange lectures, conferences, demonstrations, social events and courses of instruction for members. To cooperate with Clubs and Organisations having objectives similar to those of the Association. To raise funds, by subscription from members and by other means, in support of the Association’s objectives

**Objectives:** 1. To stimulate interest in all aspects of amateur moviemaking, to raise the standard of amateur moviemaking, and to encourage and assist, by all means, the production of films and videos by amateurs.  2. To provide an information service for members and to publish reports or documents of interest to members.  3. To organise or assist in the arrangement of local, regional, and national competitions and festivals for amateur moviemakers, and to co-operate with the Scottish Film Council in the organisation of major film and video festiVals.  4. To encourage and arrange lectures, conferences, demonstrations, social events and courses of instruction for members.  5. To co-operate with clubs and organisations having objects similar to those of the Association.  6. To co-operate with the Scottish Film Council in extending the amateur section of the Scottish Central Film Library.  7. To raise funds, by subscriptions from members and by other means, in support of the Association&#x27;s objects, and to administer any grants which may be made to the Association in support of its objects.
