The Heartland Charge comprises the churches ot St Mary the Viwn. Port Glasgow. St Fillan's
Church. Kilmacolm and St Marythevirgin. Bridge ofweir in ihe Scottish Episcopal Church in
the Diocese of Glasgowand Galloway. The single incumbencywas approved bythe Diocesan
Synod of Glasgow an(J Galloway in March 2024 and the name change ofthe charity from St
Fillan's to Heartland. pending the winding up ol the separate charities of Sl Mary the Virgin, Pod
Glasgow and St Mary the Virgin Bridge of Weir Yras approveo by OSCR in November 2024.
The purposes of the Heartland Charge are to advance religion and provide public benefit by
glorifying God through ¥M)rship and service and by contributing to the advancement ot the loc
community. The Charge offers publicworship accoroingtothe rites of the Scottish Episcopal
Church. Co-operates with othef church leaders in the local community to witness to the
Christian faith. and supports the local community. includine leasing out meeting rooms.
organising clubs to meet local needs. and oiganising occasional events. such as musical or
flower festivals to enhance the ¥￿IlbeIng ol the local community.
The worship and community actNIty offered in the Heartland Charge is open to all in the
community who wish to take pan and is inclust¥e of age. abilrty, gender and sexuality. Holy
Communion is available to all baptised Christians.
