Recruitment and appointment of Trustees All of the Church's trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at our annual general meeting which is held in February each year. Statement of Purpose The Church seeks to advan the ChristFan faith by encouraging the spread of the knowledge of Jesus Chnst through outreach in the local community and beyond. Charitable purposes Shotts EU Congregational Church is recognised by the Inland Revenue as a Charity for the purposes of providing religious servi5 and outreach into the communty and provide Sunday school for the children. To run various fundraising events for the Church and the communtty and the local children with all the rSSary chikl protection arrangements in pla. Trustee remuneration and expenses The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year. Activities and achievements As Church President it is my remit to present an overview of the Church for the past yeai. So much has happened over the past year we have welcomed new members and adherents into fellowship. As we go forward into a new year and reflecting on the year that has just passed we lebrated the Church-s 180thAnntversary, l am sure you will agree that it has indeed been a busy and rewarding year as we seen the work done to our driveway and gardens by a grant from EKF Fund which Vered the costs. Our Minister continues to work with the communty and has made inroads into local Primary Schools we had children in ChuiGh from Allanton, Stane & Kirk O"Shotts Primary Schools. The after-school dub continues in Dykehead Primary. We again had an Easter Egg Hunt from Dykehead and finishing at our Church. This involves local shops who were extremely pleased to help out. We again had a Memorial servi this year for people who had lost loved ones. and this is greatEy appreciated by the grieving families. The Craft Class on a Monday evening continues and the IJieS who attend this have a very enjoyable evening leaming craft which can sell for Church fuThis. The Shotls Tots GTOUP on a Tuesday moming continues. arKI this has been a great Sucss. Our Wednesday Lunch Club has restarted and again this is proving a great Sucss. on again, we had a holiday dub for the children and again this was a great Su$$. The Gents Breakfast Club and Ladies Fello¥vship are both continuing. We continue to participate in the sh Box Appeal arms the Sunday School childTen enjoy filling,the boxes. Fire inspection and Boiler inspection are carried out yearfy. The Church numbers are steady. and we welcomed new members and adherents. which is a good sign. In relation to the Remembrance servi at the War Memorial ouf Church continues to this servi. General Maintenan work has teen carried out by the men of the Church. The men and women of the Church also k*p the Church in a good state of repair and cleanliness and continue to kP the avenue ttdy. Our fundraising activities continue. and we made an amazing amount of money for thè Church. Regarding our financial position vrfe have again shown a loss, but this is due to a considerable amount of expense as can be seen from the Trading Account. We are continuing to pay our lawful debts and the interest from our inveslrnents has increased. Approved by the Trustees and signed on their behalf.

Respecttve responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charFty's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in ardance with the terms of the Chaijb'es and Trustee Inve5trnent (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not appty. It is my responsibilty to examine the aCUnts as required under section 44(1) {c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have tt)me to my atten'on. Basis of independent examiner's ststement My examination is carried out in aCrdan with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wtth those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disdosures in the accounts and SkS explanations from the trusts conming any such matters.
