**What the charity does:** Everything that AVA does is underpinned by our mission: to facilitate the growth of strong, resilient, and proactive communities by connecting, supporting, and promoting Aberdeenshire's Third Sector. We believe that the impact of Aberdeenshire’s collective Third Sector is greater than the sum of the individual parts and that now, more than ever, is the time when the collective voice and value of the sector needs to be recognised and amplified so that our vision of a vibrant, dynamic, and impact-generating third sector for Aberdeenshire, with a powerful, purposeful, and informed collective voice can be realised. Our TSI team provide support in different forms to nearly 1,000 community-based organisations.

**Objectives:** (a) To advance citizenship and community development by assisting voluntary, charitable, social enterprise and community organisations (collectively referred to as the Third Sector) and volunteers to thrive and develop. This will include working with public sector agencies and the provision of services which will strengthen the contribution of the Third Sector and volunteers to the economic, social and cultural development of communities.  (b) To advance health and relieve poverty by supporting third and public sector organisations and volunteers to deliver high quality services and activities to vulnerable groups and by operating appropriate projects to deliver services in the local authority area.  (c) To advance education through the provision of appropriate training to Third Sector organisations, volunteer involving organisations, public sector bodies, volunteers, potential volunteers and local citizens.
