Saughtonhall Unlted Reformed Church is an unincorporated association.
All local churches affiliated to the United Ref0￿ed Church are govemed
by the statutes of the Untted Refonned Church Act of Padiament 2000.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
The TTUStees are all ordained Elders of the United Refom)ed Church.
They are elected at a Church Meetsng and ordained al a service of
worship. They may be re-appointed by the members of the ￿ngregatiOn
at one of f￿r Church Meetsngs.
The cOngregat￿n is respK￿5ib1e for calling a Minister. The minister is also
a trustee of the Church.

Charitable purposes
The corKJregation exists to provide Publ￿ Christian worship and to Care
the spirtlual and pastoral needs of rls members, adherents and any
other persons in the eommunty who seek and welcome ils support and
help. In addttK)n the congregation provides chaplainey to Balgreen
Primary Sehool. To fulfil this objeetive monies are donated by church
members according to their means and by fund raising activities during
the year.

The congregation meets each Sunday for public wotship and holds
addttional services at the time of Christian festivals, ie Christmas and
Easter as well as a summer holiday dub for children and young people.
Scoal meetings. including drama productions and film nights, public
ctures and fund raising events are held.
Anyone is welcome at all events.
The church is a member of Murrafftld Churches Together.
The activities of the church and upkeep of the premises are funded by
voluntary giving and Sukwlemented by fund raising and hall letting to third
parbes.

the charity during the financial period

Regular contact was made and pastoral care was offered to members.
A summer holiday dub"Saughtonhall Sporting hero took place as did
number of Saturday aftemcon events for Children and young people.
The One O'clock gang was held on the first Monday of each month
prowding lunch and fellowship.
The Memry Lane Cafe twk place every Friday moming as part of the
Murrayfield Dementia Project in Murrayfield Churche5 Together.
The Congregation supp)rted the Blyd)swood Shoebox appeal, the
Broomhouse FC￿bank and Fresh start.
A Yots @ Saughtonhaif which offers a wami space for babies. young
children and their parents and the chance to meet similar people within
the comm￿ty takes place each week

Financial review
Brief statement of the
charity's policy on
reserves
A significant FOrt￿n of the churth's reserves are held on Yemi Deposit". These have
been accumulated over the years via the sale of the church manse plus some
interest. The Trustees have agreed that it L% very unlikely that there should not be any
shortlmid term requirements for these and are comfortable lo hokl these reserves as an
18 month fixed tem dep￿t.
The"Business Accounf M￿leS are held in reserve should inwme fail to meet
expenditure. but mC￿e importanty to enable the trustees lo ￿tfi1 their responsibilities for
the upkeep of premises and cushion the effect of a large unexpected property repair or
legislative required upgrades.
The Treasurers Accounf is our current account where monies are depostted and
payments made on a weekly basis.
The Joint Pastorate a￿)Unt is for any Manse and Minister expenses that are incurred.
Both Saughtonhall and Duke Street pay equal conlribution5 10 this a¢wunt.

2024 saw SURC rewrting an Income over Expenditure deficit of £20189. The reason for
this is explained in the Financial ststement and in the Treasurers rep

TRUSTEE REMUNERATION AND EXPENSES
The minister receives a stipendlsalary and penS￿)n Contributic￿S from the United Refomied Church Ministry and
Mission IM&MI fund. This a pooled fund auoss all Unf(ed Refomied chur￿￿ in the UK. The contribution lo M&M from
this church was £23.600. In line with tems of setuement for Unf(ed Refomied Church Ministers, Council Tax is paid by
the Church and £3,727 was paid to City of Edinburgh Council. Re-imbursement of property incurred expenses is
undertaken and £1559 was incurred during the year. £3299 was reinbursed to the Minister for expenses incurred
during the year.
No other trustee received any remuneration during the year.
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees. report above.
