Type of governing document Trustee recruitment and appointment The Elders of the church are Èts Trustees for the purpose of chartty law and throughout this report are collectively referred to as the Trustees. The church is Independent and congregational. Its policy and its day- to- I day running is undertaken by the Trustees. l The offices of Chairman and Secretary are, in terms of the constitution, i appointed from the Trustees. The church has Elders, recognised by the church as fitted for such roles, and appointed from time to time by the Trustees in accordance with the Constitution. Objectives and activities Charitable purposes l The advancement of rehgion and any other pury)ose regarded by the Church as analogous to this purpose. Summary of the main activittes in relation to these objects | The main activitses of the church over the year were: Sunday: Communion Service, Family Worship Service, Bible Teaching Service & Sunday School (All open to vrsitors). Midweek: Toddlers group, Craft Class, Prayer meetings and Missionary Focus meetings (regular presentations from missionaries and mission organisations). We have also operated a drop in coffee morning twice monthly to encourage connecb-ons between Church members and the local communrty. There is no charge for this café so that no member of I the community should feel excluded. k other ad hoc activities took place including a Ladies Supper Club, k Easter and Thanksgiving Breakfasts and Christmas Carol Service.
Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of During the year the church met regularly for worship and was actively the charity during the rtnancial period l involved in achieving the above stated attns through a wide variety of ServIS and events from September onwards. This was due to the easing of Covid restrictions. Elders convened monthly for the purpose of assessing the spiritual welfare of the church members. SpecifK tasks, within an overall policy, were delegated to other groups and individuals for appropriate action. Regular Mhn9S took place to raise the awareness of worldwide missson and the activkties of other bodies engaged in meeting the needs of less privileged sections of society. Financial contributions were made to organisattons in the UK and abroad. Organisations and individuals included The JAM Club (a youth centre based in East Kilbride), OpeTats"on Mobilisatson, Bamardo's, African Missionary Fund, CMCT (India), Haven Missionary Home, Good News for Everyone, SGothsh Bible SocEty, Opak Trust, Brass Tacks and the Trussell Trust. In addition to alt the above, Selkirk Strt Evangelical Church achieved the following in the financial year Maintsnance, repair and refurbishment of the church propety are under constant review. In the year the majorty of fluorescent lighting has been replaced with LED. Ftnancial review Brief statement of the charity's policy It is the policy of the church to maintain unrestricted funds, i.e. funds not | on reserves committed or invested tn fixed assets, at a level that equates to approximately three months unrestricted expenditure. This allows sufficient funds to enable the ongoing work of the church to be i maintained. The General Fund at 31st March 2025 was above the i required level.
