'the advancement of education'

Every year, our team engage with up to 100 marginalised young people (YP) aged 16-30. They live in areas of social deprivation where poverty, health inequality, unemployment, crime and alcohol/substance misuse problems are most prevalent. Using Scotland’s natural environments and person-centred practice, we deliver 5 months of powerful and progressive personal development through our Challenge Yourself, Discover Yourself and Next Steps programmes. We provide YP with the tools and strategies to navigate the ups and downs of life and improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Venture Scotland’s team understand the challenges facing YP in Scotland. We meet YP where they are and purposefully take a staged approach in every aspect of our programme to support them in the most tailored way possible. Our programmes follow a ‘challenge by choice’ approach, building trust through respect for their decisions, creating space for them to feel safe, seen, and truly themselves.

Objectives: The Company has been formed to benefit the community of people resident in Scotland (the 'Community'), with the following purposes (the 'Purposes'): 4.1 To advance the education of young people (and, in the circumstances envisaged by subsection 4.2 below, any other people) by the participation in outdoor events and activities and conservation work and activities thereby assisting in their personal development. 4.2 To engage with programmes and initiatives with other organisations where the beneficiaries of such programmes/initiatives include older people, provided that in such cases the beneficiaries also include a minimum proportion of young people determined by the Board of Directors on a case by case basis. and 4.3 to advance the provision of educational opportunities in the Community, increasing awareness of the environment, culture, heritage and/or history.
