The Kirk Session members are the elders of the church and are chosen from those members of the church who are consKJered to have the appropriate grfts and skills. The board usually meets 4 times a year and on an ad-hoc basis for Sing￿ issues requiring a t)ard de¢i$)n. The Congregational board has sub committees for Finance (Grft Ai(VMonthly EnvelopeslFree Will Offerings) and Fabric. The lQrk Session also ffets 4 times a yw chaired by the Interim Minisl The Kirk Session is responsible for the spiritual affairs of Church and was assisted by the employment of joint Locums March 2021 to Detsmber 2022. covering Sunday services, pastoral work in the Parish and online Minbsty. The main changes during 2022 was the selbng up of a new Mission Committee, CommUn￿￿onS team and a Cafè Church commthee. These were all set up as a result of the Changes in Ihe Church of Scotland'$ frKu$ to a fvture Missional Church moving foNMrd. These commrflees wll assist us in a¢hl￿ng the S marks of miSs￿n the central Church has set as a target over the next couple of years for every congregalion in S¢otsnd to attain. Page 2

Rel0￿e￿ in tradItM￿ and Presbyterian in polity. It exists to glorify Gcl and to work for the advancement of Chrisvs Kingdom throughout the world. As a national Church, it a¢kno￿edge$ a distinclive call and duty to bring the ordinances of rel￿￿ to the people in every parish of scO￿and Ihrou9h a territorial minbsty. It cTroperates vthh other Churc1￿ in vark)u$ e¢um¢ni¢al bcJw in S¢otland and beyond. SeNi¢es of public worship are e¥ery Sunday at 11:30an. The Churches online presence vrds used during 2022 arKI is now an eslablished presen￿ complemenling our trad[li￿al Sunday worship. Folbwing on from the Lockdowns. we were alluwed back into the nursing homes in 2022 under conditions to carry out our trad￿Ortal monthly s¢Tri¢es. St Fergus also held in September 2022 a Memorial Ser￿￿ for the18te Queen El￿abeth the Second and Ihe RBLS Remembrance Day service in November. The ¢ongregation have over the years buill bridges in the ¢ommunty with sepii¢es for Guwjes, Brry•mies, Raintwjws arKI the Merchant Navy AsSocia￿n. As part of our MISSI￿ inrtiatives we gave a Donation of £1,000 from the restricted Youth fund io the East Caithness Guides. Brownies and Rainbows and have agreed at Board kvel to take no rent Irtyn any youth groups that want to use our premises. The Church halls are now being used again post COVID by (Guides. Brcwnies. Rainbu•ts. Gardening Club, Yoga Class, Craft groups, Over So'￿$ group and a card club. Flnanclal R•vloW The Church like all organisalions has gone through extxpiK>nal tirnes in 2020 to 2022 with a massive reduction in income that has had to be mel from reserves. Allhough 2022 was better financialty a$ we increased our regular giving by direct de￿'t and standiThJ orders. aL80 income was availabbe from April 2022 from ￿ntaI of the upgraded Manse, in¢￿aSed Gift Aid and GASD Claims, h)wer Mission payments also helped to reduce the deficit signifKanty from the 2021 situalion. Ro8er¥es Pollcy Work was completed in March 2022 in lully upgrading the manse from Fabric Funds hehj in Edinburgh allowing us to ￿nt the manse out via letb'ng Agents Getygesons Lttl. H¢ywever January 2023 the manse rental will be paid into the Fabric rese￿￿ ￿Unt in Edinbutgh. we will nol be able to use it a$ we did in 2022 to suppthenl our main ac<>)unt.
