In collaboration with 2 of the Outdoor Cehlres a pilot study was started lo evaluate several types of telescope atij their use with visiting groups of pupils. This study was still underway at Ilp end of the reporting period. 121 One tour of the Observatory was org8ni5ed ft)r an interested party. 131 The ROE Trust acted to facilitate bringing lo Edinburgh he 'Our Fra9ile Space. outdoor photographic exhibition crealed by Max Alekander. The exhibition was displayed in the plaza adjacent to the Royal Ecotti5h Academy during spring 2024 as part of the 2024 Edinburgh Science Festival. Note that there were financial transactions in connection with this exhibition bul they occurred after 5 October 2024 and so dri not feature in the annual accounts lo that dale. 141 The ObseNalory holds a large eolleelion of astronomica glass photographic plates dating from the late 1 9th lo the earfy 21st century. These plates are fragile and need careful handling A note was wntten advising on the requirements lo safely move and store thes¢ plates during the anlicipaled refurbishment of the 1894 building 151 The 1894 building holds a number of eldedy artefacts, n*ny of some historic significance.
