We live-51Teamed Sunday services via YouTube twice a month, allowing members and otheT5 unable gather in the Sanctuary io ¢onrKct with ¥nd benefit from worship. At Easter, Advent ChristrnLS we offered worship apprOprie to the se&50n" once yin (yjr FASter SuTrJay, Nine Les)n5 arvj Carols, Christingle, Watchnight and Chrislmas Day services were well-swyported by the local community and visitors. Music has always been a distinguishing feature of our worship 8t, expertly lcd by our Organist and Cholmi&s, our experienced choir enhanced our worship every Sunday atKI led the 5ervic¢ of Nine Le550n5 and Carols. Although w¢ do not cuThenily have a Sunday Club or Youth Group. we were pleased to welcome ihe young people of rh¢ Boys Brigade and Guiding movements alortg with their leaders and families io a special s¢rvice in March io ¢elebTate ihe 140th anniversjry of the 5th Gl&sgow BB Company and open a Time Capsule that had been placed under the Sancwary floor by the Youth Fellowship in 2000. The y(yJng people were with church a8ain th Remembrance Sunday. Our Pastoral CaF¢ Tram and District Elders offtt lovtng care to Trthibers, frieThls. and parishioners. Throughout the year the Pastoral Care teom stayed in touch with and supported members and friends who were housthiund. bereaveil, ill. or in distres5, ond mainthined eonlact wilh 5¢veral membtts who are T¢sident in care homes ouThviih ihe parish. They also helped mark and elebrate joyful life events. One wedding t(KJk place irt the Sanuuary. Our congregation took full advantage of fellowshtp opportunities. with the majority of worshlppers $thying for coff¢¢ and chat after Sunday worship. Mernbers enjoyed many of the regular activities aTrJ events that took plare in our buildings, from badminton and crafting to the annual Boys. Bripje Quiz and Chippy Night and the Walking Group'5 nK)nihly adventur¢$. St John's-R¢nfield Church provides a f(Kus and stimulus for num¢rous activities. Our buildings, which are open to all. act as a community centre for the parish. providing facilili¢s most wteks for around 375 people (excluding Sunday worship attendance of approx. 70). During the reporting period we hosted our thriving Car¢r Toddler Group, a mother It1 baby fitness group, a sen50ry class for babies and car¢r& two karate classes, a Pilates d¢ classes, and badminion clubs. We provided regular reheaNI and perfijmiance space to Iwo majorGlasgow choirs and a profe1(1 opera company. Our SaThc¢uary was the venue for 7 roncerts a1 2 rf0M*e5 of PKcini'$ opera SuorAngeli4 anrnctlljg audiences of up to 500. In spring all three of halls were used to hosi GCSE and A-L¢vel exanL8. Our Pop-ln Café, hoSd on the rst Wednesday of the mffith by ouf membets for ihe community. welcomed around 30 guesis ¢very month including regular visitors from Kelvinside Ae4demy Nursery. After reaching oul to a newly-opened local we home, we were dtlighted to welcorn¢ T¢sidents and carers and hope to extend the support we offtt them in futur¢. We enjoy longstsnding relatlollships with local schoob and during the yearwe welcomed young leameES. teachers and families io our Sanctuary for their Christw and end-of-tenn events.
