To encourage the active participation of young singers and musicians. Maln actfvltles and achlevemerrt5 durf the Session 25126 opened with our routine AGM followed by a short taster rehearsal of music to be rehearsed for our Chri5trnas Concert. An OFen Evening wa5 advertised widely for the following Monday and was well suprM)rted resulting in some new members. The Chrlstmas Concert was held In Park Church. Thls was well attended and enjoyed by all. A51s our policy we were supported by a young singer from the local Secondary School. January began rehearsals for our May Concert whlch once again took place in St Margareys Episcopal Church Newlands. We perfonned a varied programme with a short piarm) recital from Alexandru Placlnta our accompanlst. The concert was well recelved by the audlence and many lovety comrnents passed on to us both verbally and via the Facebook page. We contlnue to advert15e the choir in as many ways as posslble. We encourage the members to spread the word and invite friends and colleagues. social media and advertising. We now look forward to session 26127 Membershl and fln Itlon This year we again wel￿med a number of new members, but also a few left us. We had a total of 44 members througlK)Ut the year. whith was an increase on the previous year. Some of our costs increased this year. In particular we paid more for our rehearsal and concert premises. The cost of music continues to rise. To balance this. the increased number of members brought us an increase in subscription income. Our concerts were well attended with similar ticket 5ale5 to the previous year. Our costs for the concerts were down this year as our music did not require many additional musicians or perfom)ers. We also raised money from additional fundraising activities, at our Christmas concerL at our Quiz Night and at rehearsal evenlng5. We V￿re successful in an appllcatlon for a grnnt of £15LKI from the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. This made a welcome contribution to the cost of mu51c and to the fees for our Muslcal Dlrector and covered the rentsl of our rehearsal premlse& ReseNes Poll It is the policy of the charity to maintain a sufficient level of rese￿e5 to meet fluctuations in income from membershlp and concttts and fluctuatln8 payments for concerts, tuition, room rental et¢. Thls policy has continued to serve us well this year. Donated servlces The charity is dependent on trustees. members and friends who volunteer thelr tlme to assist in the runnlng of the charity.
