Summa of the main a tivities In relatlon to these ob ects Thornhill Young FaM￿r,$ Club holds several events throughout Ihe calendar year these events are all diffefenl in nature. In the summer sports practices and comwtlions as y￿[1 as beef, sheep and dairy slockjudgings lake place. Ci)mmunty events such as local galas are also participaled in. Gills and boys Wofk hard al creating handicraft art￿leS for our local show. Throughout the year the club WIIS hokl bingo n￿hts and organise fundraisers for other charities. Members of the dub will lake part in compelrtions throughout the year induding the dressing ol sheep and cattk in the autumn. The year is ended on a high in a traditsonal manner by presenting the trophies al a club dinner. mants and Pe To start ￿ year we hekl our AGM at the Famiefs Ams on Tuesday 4th ol March 2025 where the Committee was chosen for the year. Following on from thal was our new members event held al Penpont prtches on the 23nl ol March which was a well-attended evenl and fvn filled aftemoon and for new a-nd CUr￿n members. Then on the 29th 01 April we all gathered lor a bowling nght at LA bowling at Ayr. As we moved into May we turned our attention lo the rally Wth us being the hosts this year the Pfessufe wa5 certainly on lo do our best. We started with Our practices on the 6th of May al H￿h Drum fami, by kind pe￿isSion of the Haining Famity arrfl had a Coup￿ more in preparalson for the big day. On the 17th of May the rally took place at Shancaslle Farm, by kind permission of Klondyke Farns.11 was a very successfijl day for the clubl For the first time in many Yea￿ Thomhill came 1st place overall. Wth member Sarah Hunter taking 1¥ pla￿ in the stock judging, harKI￿raft$ team coming 2nd and stockiudging *am 31d. On the 151 ol June we attended D and G f￿ld sports al Dalteattie High School vthich was well attended. Sadly. we dKln'l pkce bul an enjoyable day wa5 had by all. Moving on to our dairy slock judging which Icok place on Friday the 27th of June al Kirkland farm, by kind pernission of the McKinley family. A great night was had wilh a total of 69 people Ni attendance. It was a gcod start to oui stockjudgings. Dumln'es show soon came around with the 2 haThJicraft teams coming out with 8 3rd place and best appeafance and overall display. Aso. our secretary Laura coming 3r(1 with her dub r￿licebO8Td. On the 22nd of August we hekl our mock 8UCtion at 8allagan farn, by kind pefmission of the Mcmillan lamily. With a great tumout of about 70 people which vms good ¢onsKlering it was our first mock auCkn.￿ in a few years. Fr¥Jay the 5th of September was Our beef and sheep sltxk judging al Glenlaugh Fa￿, by kind pennission of the Temp￿ton family. With 100 peop￿ in attendance great nyht was had by everyone and a great show of slo¢k on show. Ocloter rolled around and the first event was the Mr and Miss competition where myself, Laura. Maddie and Emma all C¢)mpeted, Congratulations went to Maddie on placing 3rd in the Miss Young Famer Compe1rt￿n. On the 19th of Oclcthf we hekj our annual tractor run where we raised £627 pourrfls for Moffal mountain rescue. 30 Iraclors attended the fun and il was an enjoyable day. Then, on the 15th ol November V￿ held our coffee morning in G￿￿$tone Hall. Imiere we rnised £1 Solor our Gth-osen charrties. Our nexl event was our Christrnas bingo night on the 12th ol December in Gorronbfidge hall and rt was a well-allen￿￿nwhl. As the wnter progressed, we had a squash night in Thomhill squash ctub and a well attended curling nwht at Dumfries ice bowl in preparation for the district curfing Competition. To conclude my report. I would personalty like to thank all the commiltee members for all their hard work and for making this year a great success. You should all be very proud of yourselves and achievements al local, and national level and our contributions to charity. Financial Revlew To start off the year. 19 members joined, which raised £650. Alfili31ion fees were total of £2,024, however this is due to paying off an outstanding balance Irom the 2024-25 year. Throughout the summer months hekl trwo stockjudgings. whlch raised a total of £1.240. In the Autumn we held a mock auctK)n. raising £633. We held two charty events Ihis year, a trnctof njn whth raised £627 and a coffee morning which raised £163, FollowirvJ the tractor run we sokl canvases, raising a lurther £75. Our chosen chaiity for the year, Moffat Mountain Rescue, received £734 of this lotsl arKI the SAYFC Big Buikl project received £81. In December, we held a bingo nwJht that had a total receipl of £404. We received £502 for club clothing and paMI £578. Theffj is an outslandirvJ sum of £76 as clothing has not yet been paKI for. Overall, largely due to a carrythover from the previous year. the club made a foss of ReseThe8 Poll¢ 11 is the trustees, policy to hold reserves of approximately 12 months expenditure.
