DIVINE HEALING FELLOWSHIP (SCOTLAND) Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025

Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation Number: SC 012091 Recruitment and appointment of Trustees

All of the Fellowship’s trustees are appointed or re-appointed by members who attend the Annual General Meeting held in the spring of each year.

Governing document

The Divine Healing Fellowship is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and this took effect from 23[rd] August 2016.

Charitable Activities

Our aim, as recorded in our constitution, is to bring Christ’s healing to all who ask; to provide a centre where people can find Christian understanding and help in times of sickness or trouble and to unite the Healing Ministry of the Church with that of the Medical Profession.

Activities and Achievements

At Braehead House we welcome all who come to our doors. We are a faith-based charity built on the belief that the Christian gospel offers peace, hope, healing, forgiveness and personal encounters with God.

Guests come for many reasons: retreats for self-reflection and inspiration, conferences, prayer encounters at times of illness or uncertainty, worship, healing or celebrations. For some, peace and hope are found by time in the garden, while for others it is found in the care, hospitality or prayer support found while being served by our staff and volunteers. We observe that as guests leave us, they carry something of the peace they encounter at Braehead with them.

In 2025 our guests have included members of the African children choir, the local men’s breakfast group, church and para-church leaders for conferences, NHS staff wellbeing courses, Easter and Christmas events, a ladies group from Whitley Bay as well as our daily 9am prayer team and our Sunday service congregation. All our work is dependent on our three staff members, our Board, our volunteer team and prayer. The latter is foundational to all we seek to offer at Braehead House.

As we enter 2026, we have needs of resources, human and financial. The upkeep of the house requires people to serve as well as people to maintain the property. As our volunteers age so we require fresh men and women to catch the vision of our work to pick up the baton from those who are retiring. That has been the story for the past 40 years, as others before us, have trusted God to provide for the ministry, so we in our turn offer our best and trust God for the resource’s human and financial.

Risk Assessment

All our financial processes are in line with OSCR recommendations. Sunday offerings are uplifted, checked and recorded by two individuals, and the money is paid into our bank account as soon as possible. All other income comes directly to the Fellowship bank account. Cheques are signed by two of three bank signatories, and all expenditure transactions are supported by receipts or a signed statement of expenditure by the Treasurer.

Trustees’ remuneration and expenses

The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

Pension Arrangements

The charity makes pension contributions for the resident chaplain with the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) which is accountable to the government through the Department of Work and Pensions.

Bank Balances

There was an overall balance including reserves of £7,500 and restricted funds of £5,000 at the year-end of £27,523. The Trustees continually look for ways of increasing income and decreasing expenditure.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31st December 2025 which are set out on pages 4 to 6.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiner’s statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

  2. to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations

  3. to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations

have not been met, or

  1. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
