Coldside Parish Church of Scotland Trustees, Report Year ended 31 December 2022 The ttust¢¢s present their annual TetM)rt and financial statements of the chartty for thc ycar ended 31 December 2022. The financial statements have been pr¢pared in accordance with thc accounting policies set out in note I to the accounts and cotnply with tbe General Assembly liegulation5 for CongregatiorLai Finance, the Chwities and Ttust¢¢ Jnvestrllent (Scotland) 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 21Y)6 (as amended) alld Accounting and R¢portill8 by Charities: Statement of Recon]mended Practice applicable to cEItIeS prepating their accounts in accordance with the Financial ReportADg Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published on 16 July 2014. Objectives and Activities The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine. R¢forn]ed in tradition and Presbyt¢rian in polity. It exists to glorify God and to work for thc advaUGent of Christ's Kingdom througbout the world. As a national Church, it acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinances of religion to tbe people in every parish of S¢otland through a teitOrial ministy. It c(FopeTatrs with other Churches in various e¢llmenical bodies in Scodand and beyond. Achievements and Perforniance In the course of 2022 CoIdside Parish Church was desigmated in the Presbyt¢ry of Perth plan as- a) a desirable building for future WO and wotship . and b) as a small congregation to bc Ullit with threc othcr congregations in the city centre to make one congregation in the firture. Negotiatiojjs about the detail of the merger take place at present. Nevertheless, weekly worship with 3040 people continues, the Scout movement continues it's work in our halls. which are agaill being used by CODin]unity groups like the Coldside Discovery Dog Club, and by families for weddings, parties. and special events. The Cafe Coldside h&8 re-esthblished itself aod provides warmth and food. The R&R Cafe for recovuing addicts h&s recelltly resumed once a weeK using our halls and kitcbe Community Café= Cafe Coldside continued to go from strength to strength during 2022. The Cafe is operated under tbe auspices of the Church and is staffed by a loyal and very able baud of volunteers from th¢ Kirk Scssion. Since reopening in September 2021 tbe popularity of the Cafe has conlinued to increase and simple wholesome ligbt meals arc served each Thursday from 12 noon to 1.30pryL Community Links In 2022 w¢ consolidated links with the Swuts, Coldside Discovery Dos Club, Dundee Bairns, the R&R Cafe for p¢opEc r¢cov¢ring from substancc abus6 and ¢xpect to houK a proJt by Alexander Con]munity Development for YOW peopI¢ alienat¢d fmm school. Hall Lets These are picking up nicely providing a space for community activity and a small income for the church.

Financial Review .The principal sources of the congregation's incom¢ are- a. the gtving by it's metllbe through freewill offering envelop . open plate , and monthly donations. b. grants received to fund the operations of the Community Café. c. hall lets which are becoming a larger part of the Church's income. Offerings by the members totalled £24.680 down some £773 on the 2021 figure. A grant of £900 w&s received dwiDg the year which gnwanteed the operations of the Community Cafe for 2022. Hall lets produced a very h¢althy figure 01£2845. Unrestricted expenditure totallcd £43579 showing a small decrease of £413 on the 2021 expenditure. Illvestment Policy and Perfornanee The.only investments held by the Church are three sinall endowment holdings. Risk Management In respect of its physical &ssets the Kirk Session considers the main risks facing the congregation to be fire . burglary . and vandalism. It is managing the fire risk in conjunction with thc insurcrs by adopting a fir¢ Tisk assessment policy/procedures in compliance with allTcnt I¢w51ation and illstalling a fre alarm system throughout the pretnise5. Regarding thcft and vandaiisnL an intruder alarni Syst¢ IS b¢en introduced which connects the alarni with a r¢motc monitoring system. ID addition, the church has registcred with Smart Water who have suppli foTcnsic solution to mark external metsl to deter potential thieves. A further protection in the shape of ccrv cameras has been installed Reserves Policy Th¢ charity trustees have c4)nsidered the reserv required and have taken into accow]t theiT current and tllre liabilities. It is th¢ Trustees. po]icy to hold reserves of approxitDately six months unrestricted expenditure ¢xcluding designat¢d fid&. At th¢ y¢ar end th¢ Church held unrestricted funds of £10593 which represents about tbree montbs expenditure and tbis is somewhat lower than nornially would be expected. The trustccs are aware of ttlts and the Finance Committee is continuing to look at ways and means of maintsining the desired level of reserves. Th¢ ohurch also held £55027 of restricted fiMML8 which have been pmvideAI for the pun)oses specified in Note 15.

Respective responsibiliti£8 of trnstees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the tern]s of the Charities and TnL8tee Investtnent (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The chaTity trustees cousider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (a) to (¢) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply.
