The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity 15 exposed, and ère satisfied that system5 are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. SC012028 Achlevements and Artlvltles The Charity during the year undertook a full programme of events within the community. Its hall was also used by other organisations throughout the year. During the month of September the charity in conjunction with The Orkney International Science Festival provides lunches in its hall which is an annual event. The charity makes its hall available for use to other charities at no cost. The Charity has an on80ing programme to enhance its facilities by sourcing external funding to enable such projert work to take place. The Charity sends representatives to the United Reformed Church National Synod of Scotland meetings in spring and autumn. Members take part in Synod committees. The Charity is a member of Eco Con8re8ation Scotland. The Charity also financially supports the l Kirkwall Company Boys Brigade annually as they are associated with the Church. The Church has Trustee representatives affiliated to their Scottish Charity Incorporated Organisation. The Charity being ecumenical minded has let the local branch of the Quaker or8anisation use Its facilities for worship. The Charity financially supports a local organisation each year. This year 2024 we raised £800 donated from the congregation for"Sands Orknerf. which is working to save babies lives and support anyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. The Charity continues to supportthe local Orkney Foodbank with donations of food and one of its members is also a volunteer and Trustee. Looking ahead to 2025 the Charity shall be participating in supporting the Orkney 2025 Islands Games with the use of our facilities.
Trustees. Remuneration and Expenses Notrustees received any remuneration from the charity. Reserves As a result of the Deficit of £2,222 for the year. the charity held funds of £57,356 at the year end. These funds were made up of £57.356 unrestricted. The trust also holds the title deeds to the Peedie Kirk and Manse building5. The tru5tee5 consider that the funds held will enable the charity lo continue to operatethrou8h theforthcoming year. The Peedle Klrk Unfted Reform Church- Klrkwall Independent Examinerf5 Report for the year ended 31 Decernber Z024 I report on the accounts of the charity forthe year ended 31 December 2024 which are set out on pages 5 to 7. Respective Respon51bilities of the Commlttee and Examlner The charit¢5 trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment1Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts Iscotland) Regulatioris 2CQ6. The trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10{11{dl of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 4411} Icl of the Act and to State whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examinerfs Statement My examination is carrled out In accordance wlih Regulatlon 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2IXJ6. An examination includes a review of the accounting record5 kept by the charity and a comparison Df tho accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual item5 or disclosures in the account5, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent Examinerfs statement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 11 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any materl3I respert the requirement5: to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 4411)lal of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and; to prepare the accounts which accord wlth the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 20(% Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 21 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in orderto enable a proper uriderstandin ached.
