Other optional information

The Object of the Boys’ Brigade is the advancement of Christ's Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness

The Company operate three sections and is open to all eligible boys in the town.

The Anchor Boy Section which is for boys in Primary 2,3 and 4 meets in our own hall Fridays from 7 to 8.10pm; where they enjoy a programme of activities, games and end the session with an outing The Junior Section meet every Friday in Portland Parish Church Halls and is for boys in Primary 5,6 and 7. The boys do badge work, games, participate in Battalion Competitions and have an end of session outing

The Company section is for boys aged 12-18 years and they meet in St Meddans Church halls every Friday from 7.15 -- 9.30pm. Bible Class is held on Friday night from 9.- 9.15pm On Fridays boys participate in the badge work programme their aim being to gain the Kings Badge which is the highest award a boy can gain in the Boys Brigade

Boys also have the opportunity to participate in activities in our own hall during the week table tennis, pool, etc pipe band meet in our own Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays

The Company Section has an annual summer camp which is well attended

The session ends with a joint display and presentation of awards which is attended by parents and friends of the company

The Company is part of Troon Church of Scotland
