The objectives of the Church are based totally on its Mission Statement "To build a congregation with an active faith, committed lo worship and learning. within a loving Christian fellowship encompassing p&ple of all ages. to reach and meet the Splfilual. practical and social needs of the congregation and community., to encourage people of the community lo become Involved in the life and work of the Church and tci develop a personal relationship wilh Christ. Our Sunday services are available in person or live via you tube. We hold midweek seNices durkng Winter months. Our Kirk Session meelings are held in person. and our bible study and prayer group rn*lings are held In person and on zoom Our junior church {Evolulionl meets every Sunday and the youth group (TRASHI rneel on Sund evenings where they. after Informal beginnings can discuss biblical themes relevant lo today's world. Our church worker continues his involvement in Ralslon Primary School. organises Messy Church. Egster Holiday Club and the Junclion Cafè for P6 to S3 pupils We host two other churches, Kingdom Ambassadors and The Church of the Nazarene who use our premises on Sunday afternoons. Our Rainbows. Brownies, Girl Guides and Boys. Brigade hold full programmes and we host a Mini-Kickers football group, dan￿ class. after sch¢Jol care as well as ROAR (Renfrewshire Older Adults Resoyrcel meetings. St Mark's Church of Scotland Oldhall Paisle Trustees, Annual Re ort contd Year ended 31 December 2024 ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Our pastoral care team continue lo keep in touch wrth Ihose In care homes, the housebound. thpse in hospital and those going through a difficult time and those celebrating This Is done by phone calls. emails, letters cards and visits Flowers that have been In the church are also delivered lo members whp are ill, bereaved or celebratin9 special occasions Elders keep In fegular touch with their districts. Our roll stands at 327 with average Sunday attendance of 100-120 and a further 50-80 on line. a recent joint service we had 150 on line. A5 usual rt has been a busy year with our usual church events. An Easter BBQ, slfawberry afterhoon tea, "TreemendoLts evenl. involving outside groups and church groups decorating trees and having a friendly coffee morning with home bakirsg. We held our bring and share lunch and a congregational lunch at Ralslon Golf Club. We also supported the community council at the Ralslon Games We hold a monthly dementia friendly café arKI also a film afternoon for older adults. The highlight of the year has to be the opening of our church café - Ralston Community Café - a dweare delighled lo announce It has been a great success both financially and for geneiating a great community Splfil with many "outsiders" supporting it The welcome Is friendly and dog friendly with great bablng, teas and coffees. We are ably Se￿ed by Meena our manager but also extremety grateful for all the volunteers who serve in the café. Ilhough at As a Christian fellowship we are all too aware of those less fortunate than ourselves. During 2024 we have supported several charities wilh special retiring offerings and continue lo support the local foodb•nk. We also supported local asylum seekers with backpacks, water bottles and hals and gloves. Many gffts were donated at Christmas tirrE to Renfrewshire Women's Aj'd. Total donations in 2024 were £118.271 12023 - £117.6161 a modest increase of 0.50/0 over last year. For Unreslricled Funds, overall income was £145,342 plus a transfer of £2,000 from Restricted Funds, against running costs of £138,350 showing a welcome surplu* of £8.992 {2023- £10,319 In Reslricled Funds, geneTOUS donations were given by members lo the Annual Giving Day of *11,314 for the benefit of the Church Worker Fund. The Cornmunily Café had a surplus of income over expenses of £11,257 which was divided between Ihe Church Worker Fund and renewal of equipment fcT the café. Overall. Reslricled Funds Income was £84,461 and oulgoings £67,765 less a Iransler of; £2.000 to Unreslricted Funds gave a nel surplus of £14,69612023 - Deficit £2,251). The nel inflow of all funds for the year was £23.688 {2023 - £8,068). Reserves Policy 11 is the Trustees policy lo hold reserves defined as the lolal of Unreslricled Funds of at least six months operating costs. In a nomial year of operating costs of around £135.000. this would Indicate holding ReseNes of about £70,000, therefore the currenl Unresetwed Funds of £105,592 tt)mfortably meet this target.
