The Stewartry Show is organised to advance agriculture, rural education and community engagement within Dumfries and Galloway. Through the annual agricultural show and associated activities, the organisation provides opportunities for farmers, livestock breeders, equestrian competitors, local businesses, schools, community groups and members of the public to come together to showcase skills, knowledge and best practice. The Show promotes the improvement of livestock breeding, farming methods, food production and rural enterprise through competitions, demonstrations, exhibitions and educational displays. It also helps preserve and celebrate the area's agricultural heritage while encouraging future generations to participate in farming and rural industries. Surplus funds are reinvested into the development of the Show, its facilities and educational activities, ensuring ongoing public benefit through the promotion of agriculture. The Show is committee led and voluntary.
