**What the charity does:** Irvine Valley Parish Church is the Church of Scotland congregation covering the towns of Darvel, Newmilns, Galston and surrounding areas.  The primary purpose of the church is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through our regular worship and witness.  Our services are open to all to inspire and encourage people in their faith journeys and to nurture discipleship.  We minister to families through our regular Messy Church.   We are also called to serve our community in Christ’s name and we take this responsibility seriously.  This includes the pastoral and spiritual care of members in their own homes, care homes and hospitals.  However, we seek to respond to all human need through loving service by supporting local and national charities and by running community events.  Our suite of halls provides affordable well-equipped venues for local groups to use.  In addition, the Church also provides weddings, blessings and funerals and the minister acts as chaplain to five schools.
