The purpose as recorded in the Constitution is to promote and further develop the traditional and historical arts of the Highlands and Islands music and dance and to enhance their appeal to the local community and to tourists in the region. The main activity in relation to the above is the annual Highlands and Islands Music and Dance Festival which is held in Oban, Argyll on or about the first weekend in May.
Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people'
Objectives: The objects of the Festival comprise the promotion and further development of tradition and historical arts of Highlands and Islands Music and Dance, and the encouragement of the participation of young people in these 'folk arts'.
