Governing documenl
The founding document of the Auxiliary is a Deed of Trust executed by the late Mr.
Alexander Porteous Brown on 31 July 1903.
Charitable purposes
The purposes of the Auxiliary are the promolion of temperance. the prevention and
lessening of intemperance, gambling. drugs and other evils. the promotion of the Christian
Gospel, especially among the young.. the circulation and leaching of educational literature
In schools. soueties. hornes etc.. so as to educate and stimulate interest In the foregoing
subjects.
The Trust Deed Indicated the promotion of the purposes in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire,
Queensland (Australia) and other places. In modern times, the purposes of the Auxiliary
have been carried out exclusively within the United Kingdom. particularty within Ayrshire
and more particularty in Kilmamock. The Trustees have exercised their discretion In
dening the range of schools. tharrties and other bodies supported by the Auxiliary.

Activities and achievements
The Income of the Trust Is composed of dividends, Inte￿St. etc., collected on the
investment portfolio and Bank Account It Is anticipated that future Income will remain
fairly constant from year to year. depending on the perfomance of the investrnenl
portfolio This Is kept under review by Evelyn Partners Investment Management,
Glasgow. Regular reports are provided by them, and these are duly considered by the
Trustees with a view lo balancing investment growth with the income requirement of the
Trust. During the year. the Trustees have been able to support a wide range af schools.
charities and other bodies as detailed in Note 1 to the Accounts.
Trustee remuneration and expenses
The Trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.
Reserves
The Accounts set out on Pages 3 to 5 show Ihe financial position as at 31 December 2024
and the receipls and payments of the year. The Trustees will continue to administer both
the income and expenditure of the Trust In accordance with established practice.

I report on the Accounts of the Charrty for the year ended 31 December 2024 which are
set out on pages 3 to 5
This report Is made solely to the Charity's Trustees. as a body, In accordance with Section
44 of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscotland) Act 2005 My examination has
been undertaken so that I might state to the Charity's Trustees those matters l am
required lo stale to them In an Independent examiner's report and for no other purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law. I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone
other than the Charity and the Charity's Trustees as a body. for my examination. for this
report, or for the opinions I have formed
Respective responsibilities of Truslees and Examlner
The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scollandl Act 2005 and the
Charities Accounts Iscotlandl Regulations 2006 The Charity's Trustees consider that the
Audit requirement of Regulation 1011 Ildl of the Accounts, Regulations does not apply It
Is my responsibility lo examine the Accounts as required under Section 4411 Ilcl of the Act
and lo slate whether particular matters have ¢ome lo my attention.
Basis of Independenl Examiner's Statement
My examination is carried out In accordance with Regulation 11 of the Chanties Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulations 2006. An examination Includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the Charity and a comparison of the Accounls presented with those records. It
also Includes consideration of any unusual Items or disclosures In the Accounts, and
seeks explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The prO￿dureS
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required In an Audit, and
consequently I do not express an Audit opinion on the view given by the Accounls.
