## **Chair’s Report for AGM Meeting 26 May 2026**

There have been some great success stories for the ACA this year:

- Play Park upgraded and work is nearly finished. Plan to keep fundraising to support upkeep. Thank you to the playpark group for their hard work.

- New Christmas lights went up last year. As the display is along the A95 road they are required to be put up by Amey contractors. Fundraising efforts to continue to support the payment of this contractor.

- Thanks to Jackie Prentice for organising the Christmas Market.

- Old Station Tearoom up and running again.

- ACA volunteers open/clean public toilets.

There have also been some challenges for the ACA. Over the past year there have been some office bearer resignations. There is currently no designated Chair or Secretary. I am fulfilling the Chair role meantime. I am currently Chair of the Aberlour Pipe Band - I am happy to stay on as Trustee of ACA but cannot fulfil the role in the long term. I also feel that it is important the Chair of ACA should be someone who lives in Aberlour.

I am hopeful that while ACA requires new members, and a few have joined today, ACA can build on this and go from strength to strength.

The pressing issue for the ACA currently is the Fleming Hall – the lease up for renewal. Moray Council want to change terms of lease. This is currently being negotiated with strong subgroup to deal with that. The current lease has been extended to end October to enable this negotiation to be completed (may require be extended thereafter while this negotiation is ongoing).

Thank you to everyone who has attended the AGM today. I look forward to continuing to support the ACA as a Trustee.

Sean Jones Trustee (acting Chair)
