**What the charity does:** The Army in Scotland Trust aims to increase the military efficiency and improve the welfare of any Unit, Regiment or Establishment in Scotland. Its objectives cover: • Providing facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation to increase the military efficiency. • Making grants to any Charity or Charitable Fund or Charitable Institution whether Military or Civilian which directly or indirectly benefits any or all of the Members of any Unit, Regiment of Establishment in Scotland. • Paying all or any expense of any entertainment held in Scotland having its sole object, the raising of money for charitable purposes but only so long as the whole of the receipts of such entertainment or bazaar or similar enterprise are paid into the Trust Fund. The AIST endeavours to promote important aspects of physical and mental health. Promoting physical robustness, agility, leadership, enhancing the morale and cohesion within Units are some of the aims of why the Trust was set up.

**Objectives:** The Trustees shall apply the Trust Fund in such manner as they think fit for any purpose which appear to them in their absolute discretion directed to the improvement efficiency benefit or welfare of: (a) any Unit Regiment or Establishment for the time being in Scotland, the Orkney and Shetland Defence Areas and the Fair Isles and Berwick-upon-Tweed. (b) the Members of any Unit, Regiment or Establishment having or at any time having had it Headquarters in Scotland, the Orkney and Shetland Defence Area and the Fair Isles and Berwick-upon-Tweed. and (c) the Members of any Unit, Regiment or Establishment serving for the time being in Scotland, the Orkney and Shetland Defence Areas and the Fair Isles and Berwick-upon-Tweed. The term “Members of any Unit Regiment or Establishment” includes Members of the Regular Army, Territorial Army, persons temporarily enlisted or holding Emergency Commissions or re-employed or otherwise serving with the Military Forces of the Crown or Members of the University Officers Training Corps, School Cadet Forces and Army Cadet Forces. The Trustees shall apply the Trust Fund...as in their absolute discretion they shall think fit for any purposes or objects which are, from time to time, recognised by law as good charitable objects or purposes for the benefit of any or all of the Members of any Unit, Regiment or Establishment mentioned in Article Fourth hereof and in particular, but without prejudice to the foregoing generality: (One) in providing facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation to increase the military efficiency of any Unit, Regiment or Establishment or the Members thereof in accordance with Article Four hereof. (Two) in making grants to any Charity or Charitable Fund or Charitable Institution (whether the same be military or civil) existing or hereafter established which in the opinion of the Trustees (who opinion shall be final and binding) directly or indirectly benefit any or all of the Members of any Unit, ...
