The objectives of the North of Scotland Grassland society are, The advancement of methods of production and utilisation of Grass and Forage crops for the promotion of agriculture and the public benefit. The advancement of education and of research into grass and forage crop management, and the publication of the results of any research for the public benefit. We arrange three farm walk annually where our members and guests attend these visits to learn and understand the Grassland and Livestock management of the host farmers. We arrange an annual Silage making competition which is open to our members and general public who can enter their Silage crop to be judged against fellow competitors. We also arrange an annual Grassland competition for the Young Farmers in our area. We provide tuition to the youngsters to learn how to identify grass species and how to manage grassland for livestock production.
