1. Conslftutlon and Prfndpal Actmtles of the Unlted Free Church ol Scotland
The United Free Church of Scotland. v￿th all the Churches of the RefonnatK>n. acknowledges as
its Suprème Standard. the Word of God ¢onlained in the Scriptures of the Okl and New
Testaments.
The Church holds as its Subordinat8 Standard the Westrninster Confession of Faith: by its
Declaratory Acts, it recognises liberty of judgement on points of d¢)Ctrin8 which do not enter into
the substance of faith: and it claims the light as duty may require, to interpret. add to. modify.
or change her sul)ordinate standards. under the promlsad guidance of the Holy Spirit and with a
direct responsibilty to her Lord.
The Church approv8S the emphasises of the Dedaralory Acts on the love of God for all mankind,
the fr8e offer of salvation to all. the obligation ol the Universal Church to make known the Gospel
throughout the world. and the renunciation of coercion. persecution arKI intolerance in matters of
religion.
Accordingly, this church accepts the obligation to wilness to th8 truth of the Gospel and to sefve
men in the name of Christ with regard alike to thèir spiritual and material welfare. both at home
and overseas.
2. Respon8lblllt1•8 01 th• congregatlon
As a Congregation of the Untted Free Church of Scotland Ihis Congregation is under the
jurisdiction and oversight of the superior ¢ourts of the Denomination i.e.. the Presbytery of the
East (in which this Congregation resides) and the General Assembty of the United Fr88 Chur¢h
in all matters pertaining to bts spiritual arKI temporal (including financial) affairs. It seeks to
exercise these obligations within its fellovtship and to the people in the Community of which it is

All matters affecting the spirttual well-being and ￿der of the Congregation is by exercises by the
Kirk Session of this Congregation. The lQ'rk Session consists of its Pastor/lnt8rim Moderator and
ruling elders. Al temporal affairs (including financial) of the Congregation are administered by the
Congrègational Boar(YDeacons Courvcommittee of Management ot this Congregation. The
property Trustees of the Congregation are the Ex offic￿ Office Bearers named ￿ page 2 01 this

The Pastorllnterim Moderator ol this Congregation is apFointed by the Presbytery of the East.
Elders, elected in accordance with the Practice and Procedure of the United Free Church of
Scotland, along with members. elected by the thgregation at the Annual General Meeting or at
a meeting of the Congregation Spe￿ficaIty called for that purpose. from the Congregational
Boarth Deacons Courtl Committee of Management Olke Bearers are appointed by the Courts
which they seNe.
All offices of the Church are open to any member in full cc*nmunion. Each Congregation appoints
