## **Recruitment and appointment of trustees/committee members.** 

The positions of the above are filled as per the guidelines within our constitution and are appointed or reappointed by members at our annual general meeting, which is normally held in November each year. 

## **Governing Document** 

The McLaren Hall is a charitable organisation and the purpose and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution. 

## **Charitable purposes** 

The purpose, as recorded in our constitution, is to hold the McLaren Halll in all time coming for the benefit of the inhabitants of Killin and the surrounding district to be used as a; public hall for all lawful public meetings without distinction of sex or political opinion, meetings of religious bodies, meetings of committees or public bodies concerned with the local government of the Killin District, meetings of local Associations, Societies or Clubs, Concerts, Lectures, Cinema Entertainments, Exhibitions, Bazaars, and the like and for any purpose connected with the physical or mental recreation or social, moral and intellectual development of the said inhabitants. 

## **Activities and achievements** 

We continue to operate the McLaren Hall according to our instructions within our constitution.  In the past year the hall has continued to be actively used by a number of local clubs and organisations and visitors.  The users and uses include; 

Drama Club, 4 pantomime shows featuring local talent from primary school age up and associated preparation and rehearsals along with other events and performances over the year. Badminton Club, utilise our two courts weekly for members and visitors. 

Agricultural Show, meetings and annual village show, featuring local arts and crafts senior and junior and vegetable competition. Highland Games, as a base for annual highland games. Music, hires by bands as a venue.  (Killin Music Festival deferred) Community Choir, performances and shows.

Highland Hustle, a unique Scottish dance based workout with a feel good factor. Akido, weekly training and competition. 

The hall is also used as a polling stations for elections, for local and visitors weddings, one off music evenings, dances and social events. 

Trustees and committee member’s expenses 

The trustees and committee members did not receive any remuneration during the year.  The treasurer / booking secretary was reimbursed for stationery items totalling £8.19. 

## **Reserves** 

Ongoing maintenance and repairs continue to be high and electricity, heating and general running costs remain very high and a steady drain on income, leaving no reserves.  Hall committees are working on obtaining grants for solar PV and general fabric repairs.
