To provide financial assistance and support in order to train, educate and upskill individuals of all ages, sex, nationality and religious beliefs in the industry. This can be done by providing grants for education and training courses, covering travel and accommodation costs for those based in rural areas, covering the cost of training materials and living expenses, and providing pries for achievements in the industry. SETT aims to improve the technical knowledge and skills, offering support to sit exams, qualifications and certificates that may be required in the industry. SETT also supports the promotion and funding of study and research in the industry where the trustees have deemed it appropriate.
Objectives: The advancement of education in the science and practice of plumbing, heating and allied sciences (“the industry”) for the benefit of the general public through the provision of financial assistance and support in order to train, educate and upskill individuals of all ages, sex, nationality and religious beliefs in the industry, who are either currently working in the industry and/or who potentially want to enter into and work in the industry by. • Providing grants and such other forms of financial assistance, whether directly to the educational provider or to the individual(s) concerned as the trustees shall determine in their sole discretion. This support can include, but is not limited to: O covering all or part of the tuition fees of the educational provider, including any top up fees. O ensuring that such individual(s) are able to benefit from the training and practical learning opportunities available as well as attend relevant courses and classes, whether these are provided online or in person. O paying for individual travel and accommodation costs if required, including any long distance travel costs or travel costs from overseas in order to undertake all such training, educational opportunities and/or exams/ assessments. O covering the cost of materials and equipment for such individual(s). O covering living costs for such individual(s) while studying. and O providing financial prizes for achievement in the industry. • Improving and updating the technical knowledge and skills of such individuals in the use of materials, apparatus, methods and health and safety measures in the industry, thereby contributing to public safety and health. • Supporting such individuals to sit all relevant exams and assessments in order to help them to obtain such professional level qualifications, certificates and diplomas as they may require within the industry. • Setting exam and qualification standards, conducting exams and awarding certificates and diplomas in the industry. and • Promoting and funding study and research in the industry where the trustees consider it to be appropriate.
