**What the charity does:** WKEYC is a voluntary nursery providing high quality yet affordable childcare to the West Kilbride community.  The centre developed from the community's need for childcare and over the years has evolved from a small playgroup in 1965 to a term time nursery offering funded childcare sessions over 5 days a a week.  Currently we accommodate around 50 children from 2-5 year old.  The nursery aims to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment where children are motivated and encouraged to achieve their aspirations through exploratory play.  Within the nursery we promote various tools to aid a child's development and health & wellbeing e.g. PATHS (emotional wellbeing)  and iCan (listening/language development).

**Objectives:** To advance the education and social development of pre-school children with the emphasis on the play experience, so that they take a constructive place in the community.
