For the Sixty Fifth Consecutive year our Chrislmas Pariy foT 2024 w'as h¢ld on the 16Th December. Those
that attended were full of complimcnts rcgordingv the meal provided by Perfect Platters.
Ent¢rtaiiiinenl was excellent and occasionally the dan¢¢ floor was busy. We had th¢ usual Free Bingto and
RafflL and inLr¢as¢ in the number of tokeiis giiven to purchase some hospitality.

District foodbdnk lind thc Blantyr¢ Old Parish, 'Warm Ilub,, ns well as the o¢¢asiont¥l donation to the Blue
Triansyle and ih¢ B¢a¥ons in Blantyre and the Ilamilton ChurLh¢s Drop In Centre. This year. our tomatoes
evcD IrnVLll¥d Lll) II, Nl LILLIL 4 l.atldrkshir¢ and were cnJoy¢d by those in atlendanLe. We are grat¢ful to our
volunteer
for takii)g the lead on this WOTk.
By way of fuiidraising, we held another hugely bULLessful plant salc. We sold approximatcly 150 hunging
baskeLs. the majority were mad¢ by our volunteers. This ib our 01)ly source of iniomc throughout thc ycar
aiid encTrbles us io buy ￿n￿h1ng that we require lor the gardLm, such as coinposl, 5¢¢ds and tools.
We continued to work closely with South Lanarkshire CDun¢il and are very ￿￿teful for their support. Th¢
provided us with ¢oiintless truck loads of bark and soil improver.
Our workshop, 'The Welfare Workshop,, continued to support the garden and Bonnie Blan1￿e. A highlight
was the production of many of the ncw street pots and plantcrs. Many bird houses were also made and 501d
&t our plant sale. io raise ￿ndS for ihe garden.

Although not directly relalcd to th¢ work in the Commiinily Garden, Boiinie Blantyre is so grat¢fiAI to the
Committee for proi'iding us with a bas¢ to work over the Christmas period. By having a spaLe to work
from, w¢ w¢r¢ able to Spread Christmas joy aCTOSS our 5 primary schools und Calderside High School.
We prui'id¥d girls to faiiiilies idciilifi¢d as nreding, 'Chrislrnas ch¢¢r' by their Hclld Teachers. We olso
proirided selection buxes to ev¢ry priinary 5chovl and nursery child in Bl8lltyre, along with th¢
s l-s4 pupils in Caldersid¥ Academy. All tnade possibl¢ due to having this amazing drop off and
¢ollection point spacc.
Fundraisin
or the past two years, our volunieers have held a coffec moming to support Mcmillan. the Canccr
Charity. over £bOO was raised this year, which is brilliant. This yeaT, on the aftvtnvun vf Septeiiibcr 20th,
wc are hosting a coffee 3fternoon for Maggie's Lanarkshire as they have been a source of ¢omfori and
support to many people close to us.
