NOTES:
In consideration of these accounts, as communicated last year, the accounts are now document the actual bank account statements for both the current and deposit accounts.
The indicated loss of£ (1,915) is a timing issue due to a payment of £2,422 being deferred from the previous financial year. This being due to the ill health of the Treasurer over the summer of 2024. Taking this into account the adjusted figure for the 2025 financial period would be a small profit of £409.
Income for the year was down form 2024, this being driven by the primary publishing payments being down by £ 1,017.
When Informa was approached to give an explanation on this reduction, the following communication was received:
“(I)n 2023, we had a huge rise in OA Sales Agreements (publish) due in most partto the large sum of money under our UK agreement JISC. This figure was £38,505.06. In 2024, this figure significantly dropped for all journals due to changes in the JISC deal. You'll see £27,576.45 as the number even with the journal doing well.
This drop in revenue may continue into 2025, however, it is difficult to predict.” Niamh Bowe 14* May 2025.
The Pastoral Trust will need to understand what the income levels will be for 2026 onwards in order the carry appropriate planning and publication work.
Finally, the restricted fund is the Margaret Allen Fund, which is now held in the same bank account as the main fund. The object of[this][fund][is][to][support][an][annual][lecture][in] memory of Margaret Allen under the auspices of the Scottish Association for Pastoral Care and Counselling.
