## Activities and Achievements

The team has attended several callouts and has also been placed on standby for a further number of incidents.

The team will once again provide first aid cover for the Dirty Thirty Challenge, an annual event in which walkers and runners undertake a demanding 30-mile circuit around the local coastline and mountains.

Monthly training sessions continue, with new members attending to develop and learn the basic skills required for operational duties. We have also increased the number of qualified Remote Rescue Medical Technicians within the team to five. New members are not deployed to callouts until they have completed six months with the team, undertaken the required safety training, and been assessed as competent.

There have been changes to office bearer roles within the team. Uisdean Hawthorn has taken over the role of Equipment Officer from Ronnie MacDonald, while Lewis Warburton has assumed the role of Communications Officer from Barney MacAskill.

Additional training continues to be undertaken jointly with our neighbouring team, Kintail. Sharing knowledge and experience in this way is proving highly beneficial in informing operational responses and enhancing skills across both teams.

A formal offer of £40,000 has been submitted to the Free Church of Glenelg and Inverinate for the purchase of the former church building and land at the Ferry Road junction. A Planning in Principle application will be submitted to Highland Council, and a number of funding applications have also been lodged to help secure the necessary funding for the project. In the meantime, a modular office building has been purchased to serve as a temporary base.

Although progress has taken some time, there is now increasing optimism that the team is a significant step closer to securing a permanent base.

Training requirements and equipment needs continue to be kept under regular review by the relevant office bearers.
