distinctive call and dLtty to brfng the ordinances of the Christian faith to the people of every parish of Scotland through a territorlal
ministry.
Our vision as a cong￿gatIon is to have a visible and thrfving fellowshlp at the centre of all fgur of our communities. We aim to work
together as a team. pool¢rbg tsur skllls and resources, and led by rhe Holy Spint. to share the Good News in a way that connects with
all generations.
We reach inwards, building each other up through worshlp, prayer, dlscipleshlp and fellowship. We reach outwards, re5pondin9 to
the needs of our communities by sharing God's love In Wortj and action.
To th15 end, we undertake a range of artivitles relallng to worship, pr•yer. pastoral tare, fellowshlp, hospltallty, oLI￿￿h ond

The rrustees consider rhat these actlvities provide identifiabk public benefit by supporting spiritual wellbeln9, offeNn9 prattical help,
and contributing to the life of the local comrnunity.
Thé trustees havè 9lv*n due regard to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator IOSCRI'S gul¢ance on public benefit.
Achiwvom•nts and P•rform•n¢•
M•ln Achi•v•m•nts
The year was dominated by the unlon of the f(ve churches into one. as outlined above. The union. in legal terms. began on 1st June
2025, whlch marked rhe forrnatlon of the new Kirk Session. with 24 elders from the Kirk Ses5ion5 of the uniting congregatlons
chooslng to serve on the KSrk Session of Strathdeveron Community Church, and 46 elder5 of the former five constituent Klrk
Sessions choosin9 to ￿tIre or who sadly passed away. It also marked the begirbning of the task of amalgarnating the administration,
finances, property portfolios and management of the five churches into or*. as well as integratsng the church acknvities across our
four church centres. This has been a major undertaking, which continues Into the new financial year.
The Service of uThion by the Presbytery of the NOrth-East and Northem Isles on Sunday 21st September 2025, marked the offlclal
launch of the United Church.
All members of the uniting congregations are entitled to COntin￿e their church membership with Strathdeverori Community Church,
of which. by 31 December 2025. 597 had cFM)sen to dg so.
The main contribution to our visioft during 2025 conttnued to be:

and practical support to those within our local communities by way of our Emergency Food Parcels initiative. our Thrift

The principal source of generBI income is from regular and one-off donations made by membets and church attenders, much of
which Is Gift-aided. ISO members made regular donations by bank Standing order, arKI a further 54 mernbers made regular
donations by FWO envelDpes. 133 of these donor5 were registe￿￿ for Gift Aid. Income from other sources, such as room lets.
funerals and vrfeddings. and fundra*sing events were the main ctsmponents of our setondary fundlng Sour￿5.
DuHng the second half of the year, the Unlon ￿SuIte<l in some significant additional admirbistrabve and management COSts, and a
mp in regular donatlons. as some members of the arnalgamating congregations chDse not to become members of Strathdeveron
Community Church.
Reser¥e$ Pollcy
It is Church policy to hold funds to cover a minimum of six to n¢ne months expeTwJiture. At the year end the balarKe uf unrestrict¢d
funds amounted to £735,341. Some of these funds a￿ earmarked for future Minisrnes actjvity in line with our Vision. The Church
also hold5 restrict¢d funds of £49,646 and an endowmeftt fund of £127.568. The overall level of fun05 remains stron9. The trustees
set an annual budget at the beginnlng of each year and closely monitor actual expendtture against this t*ud9et throughout the
Year. Sufficient ￿serVeS bre held to cover any significant unforeseen ¢xpend*iure.

Member5 of the Kirk Ses510n are the chanty trustee5. The Kirk Session member5 are elders ol th¢ church and are ch05en from those
members of the church who are considered to have the appropriate gift5 and skills. The Mlnlster, who 15 a member of the Klrk
Session, Is elected by the congregation and indvcred by Presbyrery.

rho Kirk Session is rèsponsible for both the splrltual and overall management of the con9reuation'5 affalrs. The Klrk Session, which
is chalred by the MinSster. meets at least six times a year.

All Church of Scotland congregations contribute to the National Stipend Fund which bears the costs of all ministers, stipends and

the national stipend scale, which Is related to years of service. For rhe year under review the minimum stipend was £32,433 and the
maximum stipend Iln the fifth and subsequent years) was £39,856.
