Highland Group Riding for the Disabled seeks to transform the lives of vulnerable and protected people through a range of horse-centred programmes to improve physical and mental health. inspire confidence and promote self-esteem. Those we support have a wide range of disabilities, not all of them visible, and though most participants are children and young adults we have no age limit. We welcome individuals and school groups from a large geographical area with many participants living in remote areas. Through ridden and groundwork activities mobility, motor function, core strength and balance are improved, a bond between horse and participant leads to increased confidence and self- esteem. Well-being is improved through the formation of new friendships and a sense of belonging which reduce feelings of isolation.

Objectives: The organisation's purpose is to promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving (Company No 5010395) a charity registered under Charity Number SC039473 ('the Company') by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or to carriage drive to benefit their health and wellbeing in the Highland area.
