Charitable Pu ses The objetts of the Club are.. To advance the education and training of young people at large in rural issues, agriculture, homecrafts and related subject. To advance the development of active citizens throvgh development off indNiduals invofvement within their ItÉal community and leadership of their Young Farmer Group. In the interests of social welfare of young people in rural Scotland provide and promote the provision of actNsties for treatIOn and other leisure time occupations which will improve their condition5 of life and will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental capacities and self-reliance and individual responsibility- Trustee Recruitment ar Intment The management committee, which normal meets approximately 10 times throughout the year committee meetings) are the charivs trustees. Membership of the management committee is open to all members of Mauchline & District Young Farmers Club. Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting which is held in March. Summa of the main activitsts in rel*ion to these ob"e<ts We have a wide and varied range of actNities whith we aim to have something for everyone. These are both agricultural based and non-agricuttural to keep both our summer and winter syllabu5 appealing to all. We also encourage all our Membe to take part in competitions offered by AAYFC and SAYFC. Achievements and rformance Written by club (halrma Starting off the year with the AGM on the 3rd of March 2024, 0k over the reins as chaimian and secretary from ith a new committee and ofFice bearers, we were raring to go. Saturday the 9th of March saw our return to Ayrshire talent spot with the cast presenting"Rumour Has It" an in-house produrtion where the cast were very proud of what they produced, placing 3rd on the night.
On Thursday 14th March, we held our mock auttion. which was kindly hosted by M¢Naes. A special thank you must go to for being our auctioneer. On Saturday 16th of March we had our telehandler and tractor driving competition by kind permission of thrni1v at Low Carston Fa. by kind ermission of the family. and the following weekend, on the 23rd of March we had competing at the Rally Queen competition. Sunday 24th of March. we hosted our clay pigeon shooting by kind pemission of th Davidson fami. With 17 competttors the competition was fierce. with coming out on top. However. here at Mauchline it'5 not all about just celebrating the winner5. and so a special prize has to go t for being Mauchline's worst 5hot- only shooting 7150 claysl And thays not each. thavs put togetherl mily at Sunday 31st of march we held our football and netball tournament in conjunction with Crossroads Young Farmers and the following night we hosted our sports night at Low Car5ton farm. Another very wet night. and so the sports played were slightty more creative. A favourite competition of the night was the washing line race. which was very entertaining to watch and a true teller of how many mL5mmS boys we still have in the clubl On Tuesday 2nd of April we held our new members night with a great turnout of 48 new and current members taking part. The 9th of April saw teams of m self, and the other team of competing at the rally mock auction. Although we were all full of confidence going into IL I think we'd best stick to our dayiobs as we placed 10th and Ilth out of 12 competing teams. On the 14th of April we had our dairy showfflanship demonstration. a big thanks must go to for sharing his knowledge with our members and to all those at Knowe Fami for hosting us. On the Same day. we had competing at Rally clay pigeon shooting. On Monday 15th of April we had our Cake Tasting night, with big thanks to the Whitehill Farm for hosting and forjudging. Sunday 21st was the Rally football and netball toumaments. Huge well done to all those involved. earning 3rd place for netball and 1st platr for football. It was great to see so many young members getting involved. On Monday 22nd April we had our hockey tournament in conjunrtion with Ayr Young Farmers. Big congrats to the Mauchline team picking up first place. On Wednesday 24th we had our next Rally practice at SLiir by kind permission of t Saturday 27th saw the return of the Rally Dairy Calf Show. with 19 entries from the club with members picking up plenty of tickets on the day. Top prizes included erall champion. eserve champion and for winning t owmanship award in his family.
very first year competingl The Ayrshire tug o war competition took place the same day, with the girls team placing 3rd and boys placing 4th. On the 28th we had our very own super Sunday WTth a clean sweep of the rally competitions. That evening, Mauchline won the rally hockev on the cross country running, and on the long jump. On the 29th of April we had our beef clipping and dressing demonstration by kind permi55ion of the amily at Holehouse farm. It Wa5 a very insighthil night. Moving into May. it was time for Catrine show. with fa paintin& the young famiers tent and bar. It was a diffitult day handing out pints quitk enough to keep everyone refreshed. On the Ilth was Ayr show with Mauchline teams competinB at tug of war. Stock Judging and handicrafts. Special mention to Ouf junior handicrafts team picking up 1st place. Saturday 18th of MaY-"RaI Daf. The day was n-stop with member5 competing in every competition. Highlights of the day in the livestock. we had inning best novice in her first ever rally, an inning overall sheep and reserve hoof in what was definitely not his first rallv. There were many certificates picked up througholrt the day across a variety of competitions, but really the highlight for as just the whole team spirrt and the buzz on the day. I can't describe how proud we were of everyone mucking in and working together and of course it was topped off at the end of the night by bringing the Rally trophy home to Mauchlinel Sunday 19th on the only sunny day of the year, we held a BBQ at Whitehill fam) to thank all the members for their hard work during Rally and to celebrate everyone's contributions. big or small. It was great to see 50 members turn out to celebrate the successes. At the start of June we13unthed our new club clothing and logo design with thanks to the logo farm and or their help with that. On 20th of June. it was of course time for the highland show, with members competing at a National level. The junior handicrafts team placed second wrth inning a special prize for her knrtted bobble hat. and in senior on the special prize for best sewn article. Onto the stock judein& on best dairy indNidual and best dairy pairs. ll*were lucky enough to be part ofthe winning team lifting the Herald Cup, an as part of the Ayrshire A team coming 3rd in the junior section. Moving into July, on the 2nd we had our car treasure hunt with 32 cars. Thanks must go to aking up this years. treasure hunt. It was also the first time we used the new gazebo and I think we can all agree it looks pretty snazzy. SO we'd just like to thank the foundation for their support with that.
On Ilth of July we hosted our blind drop. thanks to Alihough I don't think the participants were thankin New Cumnock. or thoosing the drop-off points. hen they were dropped in the hills of On the 18th we had our Grand Dairy Stotk Jud8inE in conjunction with West of kotland Holstein club at Dawnlaw farm by kind pernii55ion of th•amily. It was great to See tremendous support with 162 competitors. Thanks must also 80 t rjudgin& Kirkys kitchen for providing the food and to all the sponrS for helping ent possible. We managed to false £1824.70 for Ayrshire Cancer Support. From the 26th-28th of July. 19 members went across the waterto Northem Ireland on the first leg of our exchange with GlarryFord Young Famers Club. It Wa5 great having the exchange back after a few years of rt having one. The weekend induded a Speed Shear Competition, a visit to Antrim show, and a Ibiza themed 88Q August 14th we held our matter of opinion night and with 14 competitors. it was great seeing this event being well supported. Thanks must go to r as question master and or judging. On the 23rd we and our club bowling event at LA Bowl with 49 members attendin came out on top as king and queen pin. On the 30th we held our pub quiz and games night at Cumnotk Rugby aub and on the 1st of September our A team plated second at Ayrshire bowling. The 6th of September saw the retum of the Beef and Sheep st(k Judging, thi5 year held at Dykes farm, by kind peimission of th amily. A massive thank you must 80 to the mily. the judg and all the sponsors. On the 7th of September, Mauchline teams compete at Ayrshire beef cattle dressing. Well done to for placing second in the seniors and placing second in the juniors. Thursday 26th September saw the second new members night of the year. again great to see some new faces in attendance. On Friday 27th we finally got to celebrate the Clubs successes with a good old fashioned cup filling. Saturday 28th we were volunteering with a car wash at Stair School, raising funds for the community Into October, on the 5th was Ayrshire Mr and Mi55 competition. Myself placing second in the Mr competition and 13cing first in the Miss. We both later went on to compete at West Area with lacing 2nd on the Trht.
On the 8th was the Ayrshire quii and it is safe to say we aren't masterminds as we were all home and in bed by the time the second round even started. On the 12th, we had our dairy cattle dressing al Ovtmains farm, by kind permi55ion of the family. We had 9 teams competing wit winning senior and and winning the junior sectio nt on to place 3rd at National. Sunday 13th saw the retum of Ayrshire roots and industrial.11 was great to fill out every entry for the first time in a while. Well done and huge thanks to everyone who took part. Thursday 17th Ottob aded into Ayr to meet with a brownies club and help them earn their.out and abouf badge. We took along a show calf and a tractor to teach them about famling. Friday 18th was Ayrshire senior lamb dressing wit and myself and oming second. In the junior cornpetition came 2n Sunday 20th wa5 our annual trip to Cambuslang to see who would eam bragging rights for being fast and furious at the Bo Karting. Tuesday 22nd was our annual tea bingo at Ochiltree Church Hall and it was great to see so many people there to support th event. Thanks must go to our bingo calle 25th-27th was the return leg of the exchange. On the Friday night, we went to Cumnock Rugby Club for a social night with all of the exthangees. Thanks must go t deliciou5 cooking. The rest of the weekend invofved a scaven um ries ouse. a tiip to Falkirk for a Halloween dance and a fam tour at Gir¥an mains on the way back to the boat. Tuesday 29th we had our junior speechmaking team o compete placing 1st at the Ayrshire competttion. They later went on to place 5th at west then 4th at national with inning best proposer out with the winning team. Into November, on the 5th we were invited to Armour vets for an interactive workshop where members learned all aboLrt the practice. veterinary and veterinary nursing as careers. as well as hearing some funny and interesting stories from the vets themselvÈ5. 16th of November was the rugby day out, where 55 members went to EdinburEh to watch Scotland vs Portugal in their autumn international test. On 21st of November. the club got together to watch the concert DVD and have a pizza night. November 29th our Race Night. It was a tremendo night wrth over 130 eo le in attendance. Thanks must go to OLsr amazing compere for the eve e for being our auctioneer and to all the sponsors that evening. It was a very successful night and we were thrilled
to be able to make a donation to the Brain Tumour Charity from the profits, a charity close to the clubs heart. On the 5th of December we held our wreath making night wit return of our Christmas Eve dance. and on 24th was the Into January, for many of u5 It was busy start to the year. wi plenty concert prattices and stenery paintinBs. g our tirne with On Sunday Ilth, we had 2 teams competing at senior speech making and it was great to see senior teams back competing at this competition. Well done to winning best vote of thanks out with the winning team. Onto the biggest event of the year so lar.. Concert week. This years annual variety concert "American trilorf produced as a brilliant week filled with many highs and lows. It was set to be a blockbuster finale but storm Eowyn had other ideas. Even though Friday was cancelled. with the work e made Thursday an unforgettable night performing in front of an audience of 650 people. On Sunday 26th the curling team o on the Ayrshire Curling competition. On February 7th, 26 members went to watc playing for Ayr Rugby Club in the Ayrshire derby- Ivs been a great year for club members supporting each other. both within and out with farming events. On 17th of February we hosted a travel tslk. wher an insight into their travels through SAYFC, a huge thanks goe5 to them. Hopefully, it will encourage you all to get involved in this programme in the futu. gave us To cap off an amazing year, we travelled to Stirling to compete at the National weekend. Firstly, bowling. You'd have thought this group hadn't Itfted a b311 before 35 the didn't lace. On Saturd3 was National footb311, our redemption. The team o ent on to win national football. bringing it back to Mauchline. Ayrshire A team captained by ***lplaying won the Sun ay was nationa trophy. oc ey wit On Tuesday 25 Febnjary, the team of took part in the Ayrshire Debates competition. None of them had taking part in this before so well done for trying something newl A huge thanks must go to their traine Ladies and Eentlemen. I was told before tonight to judge a young farmers year on how long their speech is so I'm sure you'll agree ivs been a pretty phenomenal year. I'd also like to thank my fellow office bearers and committee for all their help this year. and wi5 the best of luck for the year ahead, I know the club is in good hands. io

During this financial year we had £9,547 more income than the previous year but our expenditure has also increased by £16,104. Overall we report a profit for the year of £7,108.
